Applications are invited for a research studentship leading to a PhD in Optical Diagnostics at The City University, London.
The post holder will undertake research on a research project entitled "Internal Flow and Spray Structure in Diesel Injectors".
The area of research is liquid-gas two-phase flows inside and immediately outside real-size diesel injectors, and, in particular, physical measurement in three areas:
Applicants should have a good degree in Physics, Chemistry, or Engineering, with interests in fuel injection technology, optical measurement techniques and/or related subjects, and work well within a team of researchers.
The City University has recently refurbished its internal combustion engine laboratories in which this work will be carried out.
The Project will be supervised by Dr R.D. Lockett and Professor. C. Arcoumanis.
The studentship is offered at the rate of £12,000 per annum, plus home (EU) tuition fees for three years.
