Brain Awareness Week Grants


Brain Awareness Week Grants;Brain Awareness Week (BAW) is the global campaign to foster public enthusiasm and support for brain science. Through outreach activities, advocacy, and events, BAW highlights the importance of neuroscience research and its impact on daily life.

BAW grants aim to bridge gaps in knowledge and promote global brain health awareness, especially in regions with limited resources and public understanding. Interdisciplinary projects connecting neuroscience and society are strongly encouraged.

Eligibility

  • Proposed events may take place in countries outside Europe

  • Organizers in Europe must apply through the FENS/Dana BAW Grants call

  • Events must be held in 2027 (not required to coincide with official BAW week but must align with the campaign)

    Grant Specifications

  • Maximum grant amount: defined by IBRO guidelines

  • Ineligible costs: specified in application details

  • Payment and reporting requirements: outlined in IBRO Grants Portal

  • Activities must emphasize DEI values (ALBA Network guidelines) and align with IBRO visibility guidelines

    Examples of Eligible Activities

  • Outreach efforts directed at schools

  • Establishment of advocacy groups

  • Events targeting policymakers and media

  • Community discussions on ethical, legal, and societal implications of neuroscience research

  • Applications must be submitted via the IBRO Grants Portal

  • First‑time users must create an account
