Cesvi - Cooperazione e Sviluppo

Duration: 6 months, renewable

Required Competencies

  • University degree
  • At least 5 years relevant experience in developing countries Significant field experience (at least 5 year) in emergency projects in Developing Countries
  • Familiarity with internationally accepted project management methodologies
  • Good knowledge of donors' financial, reporting and procurement procedures
  • Proven experience working effectively and respectfully with host country government, NGO and local partners
  • Demonstrated attention to detail, ability to follow procedures, meet deadlines and work cooperatively
  • Demonstrated skill and experience in report writing and financial/budget management, monitoring and evaluation, combined with strong team management skills and experience
  • Availability to move frequently and spend some time in remote areas
  • Excellent knowledge of the French language, both written and spoken

    Desirable Competencies

  • Previous experience in Africa
  • Previous work experience in distribution of food and NFI, infrastructure rehabilitation and reconstruction (schools, health centres, roads etc.)

    Main tasks:

  • S/he represents the Organization in front of local and international institutional counterparts and stakeholders (especially UN agencies)
  • S/he has overall responsibility on project management, planning and execution of all project components
  • S/he supervises and coordinates expatriate and local staff
  • S/he ensures adherence to relevant procedures of Donors and host country government
  • S/He is in charge of the procurement operations according to CESVI, Local Government and Donors rules
  • S/he ensures timely delivery of expected outputs and reports
  • S/he designs and delivers institutional support actions to counterparts
  • S/he ensures the flows of information needed to support Fund Raising activities and social and economic reports (in accordance with the HQs indications)
  • S/he is responsible for the writing and submission of new project proposal
