Organizational Unit: Africa Division
Post graduate, at least Masters degree in Public Health, Social Sciences combined with Development and International Relations with experience in area of youth health and development Seven years of professional experience in the field of youth
development and sexual and reproductive health and HIV prevention among young people, and understanding of the social, economic and political context of the Africa region
Direct experience in managing programmes with and for Young People at the regional and country level in Africa , including demonstrated experience with youth organizations and youth networks at regional and country levels
Experience in effective policy dialogue and programming with inter-governmental bodies in the Africa region, including promotion of effective youth participation in policy and programming
Knowledge of UNFPA regional and country programming process,
proposal/project development and programme management skills
Working experience in the United Nations system, especially UNFPA; knowledge of UNAIDS Co-sponsors policies and programmes is an asset
Excellent command of oral and written English and French is
essential. Good drafting and report writing skills; and presentation and interpersonal communications skills. Good working knowledge of Portuguese and Spanish is an asset;
Willingness and capability to undertake duty travels
Initiative and sound judgment; excellent organizational, and
diplomacy skills, and ability to function in a multi-cultural work environment and work effectively in a team.
