A: Scholarships
Hilde Back Education Fund (HBEF) is a charitable community-based group registered under the laws of Kenya to provide education scholarships and other academic opportunities to bright children from poor families and disadvantaged communities.
The scholarship programme enables outstanding graduate students from outside the United Kingdom to study there. Gates Cambridge Scholarship covers tuition fees, £12, 250 maintenance allowance for 12 months, economical airfare from the scholar's normal country of residence to the UK at the beginning of their course and contribution towards the costs of supporting dependants at Cambridge. The scholarship can cover any subject; Graduate Study (e.g. PhD, MPhil, Diploma, LLM etc.) MBBChir Clinical Studies Degree MBA (Masters in Business Administration) Affiliated study (i.e. a second undergraduate degree) etc.
The Institute for Humane Studies awards scholarships up to $12,000 for undergraduate or graduate study in the United States or abroad. All qualified men and women will be considered without regard to race, religion, national or ethnic origin, citizenship, or handicap.
The scholarships of £7,995 have been created to assist international fee-paying students who need to complete a Foundation Programme before enrolling on a University of Exeter undergraduate degree programme.
EarthCorps brings together emerging environmental leaders from around the world to participate in an environmental service program. Benefits inculde a monthly stipend, accommodation, health insurance and travel scholarship of up to $500.
Nyenrode is offering a broad range of scholarships for candidates applying for the full- and part time Master of Science in Management programs and MBA programs. The scholarships are worth at least € 10,000 each.
King Faisal Foundation Scholarships are awarded to outstanding Muslim from any country to undertake postgraduate studies in science, medicine and engineering. The program covers two to three years of study and provides full tuition and a generous monthly stipend.
Full and half tuition fee waiver scholarships are available to international students at any University of Westminster undergraduate degree who plan to proceed to a full-time Masters degree within the University.
The Theological Education Scholarship Fund for Women in the South provides for first degree or diploma studies which are done at a seminary or college in the home country or region of scholarship awardees.
A limited number of scholarships are exclusively reserved for participants from developing countries working in or wishing to engage in primary health care/public health or district-level health services. The full scholarships will include a 1 week preparation and 13 weeks HCMTC.
The Steve Huckvale Scholarships are now available for international students born in an African country to study a postgraduate taught programme in the field of Engineering or Management. Each scholarship is worth £5000.
The purpose of the grants is to provide opportunities for post-graduate students. Preference will be given to applicants who are resident in Kenya or Tanzania and registered at a local college or university.
The National Geographic Society awards grants for scientific field research and exploration. Grant amount ranges from U.S. $15,000 to $20,000 and awarded on a rolling basis.
Applications are invited for Moabi stipend from young African botanists. The grant can be used for training, a study trip, cover the costs of travel and accommodation or the delivery of a publication.
The Theodora Bosanquet Bursary is offered annually to women graduates whose research in History or English Literature requires a short residence in London in the summer. It provides accommodation in a hall of residence for up to 4 weeks and ther is no upper age limit.
Two funded research studentships are available at University College Cork. The studentship covers university fees at the EU level, and an annual stipend of up to €18,000.
The Trondheim Business School (TBS), is offering a Phd Scholarship of up to 340000 NOK per year in financial and empirical modelling of energy markets.
The Master of Integrated Water Management Scholarships will cover full tuition costs (AUD 36,000) of the three semester MIWM Program as well as Overseas Student Health Cover for the duration of the Program.
The Canon Collins Scholarships provide maintenance and tuition fees. The scholarships are for a postgraduate degree (normally a one year Master's degree) in either the United Kingdom or southern Africa.
DAADscholarships are given each year to postgraduate students wishing to study for a master‘s or PhD degree. The DAAD scholarships can support students who want to study in their country (In Country Scholarships) or abroad and an appropriate flat-rate travel allowance will be paid for.
The Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation aids art students, artists, and sculptors. Awards are limited to candidates in the early stages of their careers working in the following: painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture.
MAB provides 10 young researchers each year with awards up to $5,000 in support of their research on ecosystems, natural resources and biodiversity. Priority is given to projects carried-out in biosphere reserves, on the theme of ecosystems and water.
Applications are invited for one-year Faculty Masters Studentships at University of Strathclyde. The scholarship covers full tuition fees.
A limited number of full and partial scholarships are available for Master in Advanced European and International Studies (M.A.E.I.S). The subject areas are; International Relations, European Integration, Federalism, Democracy and Society.
The grants are open to promising African scientists affiliated to training and research institutions in Africa who have shown the potential to undertake creative and innovative research in forestry in Africa, whether individually or as a team.
Grants of up to US$80,000 per project are open to teams of senior scientists who are willing to undertake collaborative and transnational research in Africa and there is no age limit.
The Fellowship of US $10,000 may be used at any university or college offering accredited post-graduate courses and degrees. Women of any nationality are eligible for the Amelia Earhart Fellowship Program.
ICGEB is currently offering two biosafety fellowships for a period of 3 years with an annual remuneration of 24,000 Euro per annum, and travel to and from the fellow’s country of origin, as well as medical insurance for the duration of the fellowship, will be provided.
The Visiting Fellowships provides a subsistence expenses of up to £1,800 per month, £3,900 spouse allowance for an accompanying spouse/partner, return fare for the Fellow and spouse/partner, £2,600 London allowance for the Fellow and up to £750 for travel within the UK for the Fellow for research trips, conferences, etc.
The fellowship assists graduate students in television journalism and the recipients work as assistants at the Adham Center for Television Journalism during the academic year. The fellowship covers tuition fees.

Think Tank Initiative invites applications from independent African organisations that are committed to using research to inform and influence social and economic policy. Core grants will be either a four-year renewable grant or a two-year renewable grant.
