The place of employment will be at Unifob AS, Bergen Center for Computational Sciences (BCCS) within the Computational Biology Unit (CBU).
The group of Boris Lenhard at CBU (http://www.cbu.uib.no/research/lenhard_group) is searching for two PhD students.
Recruited PhD students will do research on one of the two topics the group is currently focusing on:
The detailed research plan for each of the topics will be tailored to the background and the interests of the students.
As part of their training, the students will be enrolled in the Molecular and Computational Biology (MCB) Research School at the University of Bergen.
The research area in question is highly competitive and requires high level of dedication and work ethics.
Candidates should be able to work both independently and as part of a team, as well as be strongly motivated to pursue an academic career.
They should hold a MSc or equivalent academic degree, have a solid grasp of general concepts of molecular biology and genomics.
They should possess strong quantitative skills and be highly proficient in at least one major programming language.
Previous experience in bioinformatics or applied statistics is a strong plus.
