The International Consultant will have the following qualifications:
University Degree in economics (preferably with emphasis in
environmental economics) or development planning, natural resources management/environm ent, social sciences or related disciplines.
At least seven years of relevant work experience in the area of
development and a full understanding of the social, economic and
environmental aspects of sustainable development.
Strong conceptual and analytical skills and clear understanding of the mainstreaming process.
Ability to effectively present complex concepts and information in a simple, coherent and succinct format.
Practical experience in the development of policy or other guidelines
High attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines
Ability to work independently and as part of a team and in a
IT competencies at least in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and internet.
Strong communication skills (written) and fluency in written and spoken English, working knowledge of French would be an added advantage.
The assignment will be supervised by UNDP-DDC. On commencement of
the study, the international consultant will be provided with all the national case study reports and a briefing will be organized by teleconference.
The consultant's work will lead to an International workshop to be held in the second quarter to validate the outputs of the consultancy.
The working language is English.
