Sanitation & Hygiene Coordinator, GOAL - Uganda

Suitable candidates will hold a technical undergraduate degree, e.g. Civil or Structural Engineering, or an undergraduate degree shown to be appropriate to the job description.

Location: Uganda (Pader District)

Closing date: 21 Nov 2007

Requirements (Person Specification)

  • Suitable candidates will hold a technical undergraduate degree, e.g. Civil or Structural Engineering, or an undergraduate degree shown to be appropriate to the job description.

  • At least two years experience of working in an NGO or similar Watsan environment

  • Excellent communication, computer and report writing skills

  • Experience of management and training of staff.

  • Demonstrated analytical and conceptual skills to plan projects, timetable agreed activities, manage a budget and oversee staff activities.

  • Ability and willingness to live in a remote, insecure location, within security procedures

  • Good team player, flexible and capable of adapting to a recovering, rural community environment.

    Desirable

  • MSc in Community Water Supply, Water and Environmental Management, Water Management, Water and Waste Engineering or similar.

  • Experience of participatory approaches including PHAST

  • Experience of biosand filter introduction in rural communities

  • Demonstrated technical design skills, preferably using AutoCAD
