The Forum for Agricultural Research in Africa (FARA) is seeking to employ an ICT/ICM Expert and Coordinator for the Regional Agricultural Information and Learning System Programme (RAILS) who will be responsible to the Executive Secretary.
PhD or equivalent degree in Computer Science, Information
Science, Agricultural information and communication management or
Expert knowledge of open source content management systems,
relational database management software (e.g. SQL Server) and T-SQL
Citizenship of an African country and experience in more
than one sub-region of Africa.
At least 7 years experience with an outstanding record of
achievement in information and communication management systems and
scientific research management.
Experience in training and open and distance learning could
be an advantage.
Experience in resource planning and management
An ability to work in English, but with oral and written
fluency in either English or French.
Ability to work effectively in a multi-cultural environment.
An ability to make presentations and write well under
pressure and a commitment to meeting deadlines.
