The Forum for Agricultural Research in Africa (FARA) is seeking to employ an ICT/ICM Expert and Coordinator for the Regional Agricultural Information and Learning System Programme (RAILS) who will be responsible to the Executive Secretary.

  • PhD or equivalent degree in Computer Science, Information Science, Agricultural information and communication management or related field.
  • Expert knowledge of open source content management systems, relational database management software (e.g. SQL Server) and T-SQL
  • Citizenship of an African country and experience in more than one sub-region of Africa.
  • At least 7 years experience with an outstanding record of achievement in information and communication management systems and scientific research management.
  • Experience in training and open and distance learning could be an advantage.
  • Experience in resource planning and management
  • An ability to work in English, but with oral and written fluency in either English or French.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multi-cultural environment.
  • An ability to make presentations and write well under pressure and a commitment to meeting deadlines.
