The Interdisciplinary Research Centre (IRC) in Biomedical Materials, based at Mile End, requires a Postgraduate/Postdoctoral Research Assistant to work on spider silk.

The project is funded by the European Commission and forms part of a collaborative programme on the development and use of spider silk as a scaffold material for tissue engineered and other bioactive implants.

Specific tasks include modification and characterisation of silks to manipulate bioactivity and cell guidance properties.

Salary up to £26,293 depending on experience (inclusive of London Allowance) (fixed term for up to 9 months).
