PhD Studentships in Modeling of Phase Transfer in Multiphase Particles, The Leibniz Institute for Tropospheric Research, Germany

The Leibniz Institute for Tropospheric Research, Germany invites applications for these PhD studentships.

Applicants should have a university degree in natural sciences or chemical engineering and ideally have a strong background in thermodynamics, heterogeneous chemistry or related disciplines.

The candidate should be interested in theoretical problems and be able to implement appropriate solution approaches in computer programs.

Among other applications, the developed models will be used for the interpretation of experiments performed at the Leipzig Aerosol and Cloud Interaction Simulator (LACIS).

Knowledge of FORTRAN or/and C programming is required.

It is mandatory that the candidate is fluent in written and spoken English.

The position is limited to three years.

The salary level is according to German public service regulation (TV-L 13 O/2).

Female researchers are especially encouraged to apply.
