Health & HIV/AIDS Director, World Vision - Kenya

Provide overall leadership for Health and HIV&AIDS programs and projects in World Vision Kenya.

The Health and HIV & AIDS Director will oversee/ coordinate implementation and integration of Health and HIV & AIDS programs and Grant projects into on going ADP programs ensuring multisectoral approach is employed and capacity building of all WVK staff is done for enhanced mainstreaming of Health and HIV&AIDS into community programs.

Ensure integration promotes participatory planning by all sectors in the ADPs and the community. Actively participate in National Health and HIV&AIDS networks, resource mobilization and assist in planning Health and HIV&AIDS baseline surveys, needs assessments and evaluation of programs.

Liaise with World Vision sub-region, regional and support offices for Health and HIV/AIDS programming, strategic developments and documentation /sharing best practices.

Requirements:

  • A Masters Degree in social sciences or health with 10 years practical experience in Public health including HIV/AIDS with a reputable organization.

  • Training facilitation and coordination skills.

  • Proposal/concept papers development for fund raising.

  • Research, monitoring and evaluation skills.

  • Needs assessment and report writing skills Development and review/update of Health and HIV&AIDS strategy.

  • Ability to build partnerships/networks with other stake holders.

  • Ability to work as a team. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Complete compatibility with WV’s Mission, ethos, policies and Core Values.

  • A strong aptitude for organizational change, participatory and servant leadership, innovation, learning, team building. Keen sense of justice and gender equity.

  • Language fluency in English and Swahili.

  • Full ability to communicate cross-culturally and be cross-culturally sensitive.

  • Experience in developing successful, community-based Health and HIV&AIDS programs.

  • Working knowledge of child sponsorship as a programming and support mechanism.
