Country Director, CARE - Sudan

CARE - Sudan

The Country Director (CD) is CARE's senior representive in Sudan and is responsible for ensuring that CARE's work in that country contribute to CARE's vision of "a world of hope, tolerance and social justice, where poverty has been eliminated and people live with dignity and security".

Location: Sudan (Khartoum)

Closing date: 03 Oct 2007

Requirements

- Bachelor’s Degree in related field

- 8 years in a senior management position in the development field

- Program management – demonstrated experience in leading strategic and operational planning

- People management – demonstarted leadership and interpersonal skills

- Financial management – budgets, audits, donor compliance and reporting

- External relations/fundraising – managing institutional partnerships with NGO’s

- Information/knowledge management – ability to establish a learning culture within the CO

Preferences

- Master’s Degree in related field

- 10 years in a senior management position in the development field

- Experience and knowledge of operationalizing a rights-based approach

- Experience in development of program support systems and operational challenges

- Experience and skills in organizational processes
