Manager, The Business Development Initiative, Sierra Leone

The candidate will be part of a small and dynamic team committed to creating a new and exciting business in a challenging post-war environment.

He/she should be prepared to work long hours, deal with slow moving bureaucratic challenges and be willing to `get his/her hands dirty' with Sierra Leonean businesses from day one.

Skills requirement:

  • Demonstrated commercial background with outstanding academic and professional experience;
  • Advanced finance degree/qualificatio n;

  • Strong analytical skills and exposure to financial systems;

  • Strong communications and advocacy skills, able to interface effectively with public and private sector leaders;
  • Demonstrated ability to work with others, lead teams, and build capacity;

  • Experience of living or working in West Africa an advantage;

  • Knowledge of investment climate issues in Sierra Leone or similar environment an advantage;

  • Sense of humour.

    Timeframe: Initial one year contract with possibility of extension
