Location: Monrovia, Liberia

Skills required:

  • Comfortable in a peer relationship with political leaders such as the Minister of Health, as well as civil servants
  • Ability to navigate complex government processes with multiple influencers, and to negotiate and achieve consensus
  • Proficiency in working independently to solve complex problems without extensive structural or operational support from HQ
  • Ability to achieve maximum efficiency and impact with limited human and financial resources
  • Mentor, manager, role model and team player who demands 100% performance from self and entire team;
  • Knowledge of HIV/AIDS desired (but not required)
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong program management experience
  • Ability to work within budgetary constraints typical in a small foundation
  • Knowledge of local culture preferred
  • Excellent business-oriented oral and written communication skills

    Education/Experience:

  • Medical degree strongly preferred; Master's Degree in Business or Public Health will be considered
  • 5-10 years experience in private or public center enterprise, with increasing levels of responsibility and leadership
  • Experience in a leadership role, with full operational and financial responsibility and accountability
  • Demonstrated ability to favorably influence decision making processes in a diplomatic and collaborative manner
  • Demonstrated proficiency in building management processes and tools and ensuring that the organization follows them
  • Demonstrated ability to work with the leadership of his/her organization on strategic, operational, and organizational issues, as a strong yet collaborative team member
  • Experience working in resource poor settings desired (but not required)
