In order for the Judiciary to be responsive to this constitutional requirement, it is imperative that the Judiciary strengthens its capacity to implement the Judiciary Transformation Framework (JTF) which was launched on 31 May, 2012.
The JTF is anchored on four pillars, the fourth of which is dedicated entirely to Information Communication Technology (ICT) as a key driver of transformation.
In particular, we seek to recruit:
ICT Officer I

Reporting to the Senior ICT Officer, the incumbent will carry out the above duties in a large court station and will plan and implement user-training sessions.
In addition, the incumbent will supervise junior CT staff.
Person Specification
For appointment to this position, a candidate must have:
A degree in any of the following fields: Computer Science/Information Communication Technology or Electronic Engineering or equivalent from a recognized institution;
Four (4) years relevant experience;
Have CCNA level 4;
Experience in a legal environment will be an advantage.

Reporting to the Assistant Director, Networks, the incumbent will manage the Data Center as well as provide technical support of the LAN and WAN systems of the Judiciary.
Person Specification
For appointment to this position a candidate must have:
A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent from a recognized institution with four (4) years relevant experience.
or
A diploma in Electronic Engineering, Telecommunications or Audio-Visual Engineering from a recognized institution with six (6) years relevant experience.
Working experience in a Cisco environment shall be an advantage.

Judge of the High Court of Kenya (40 Posts)

Terms of Service : Constitutional Office
Period of service : Retirement at the age of 70 years with an election to retire on attaining the age of 65 years.
Functions:
The successful applicant shall serve in any High Court, Environment and Land Court or Industrial Court Station in Kenya as and when designated by the Honourable Chief Justice and shall have jurisdiction as stipulated in Articles 165 (3) and (6), 162 (2) (a) and 162 (2) (b) respectively of the Constitution or any other jurisdiction, original or appellate conferred by any legislation.
Constitutional and Statutory Requirements for Appointment:
An applicant must possess the following qualifications:
Hold a law degree from a recognized university, or are advocates of the High Court of Kenya, or possess an equivalent qualification in a common-law jurisdiction;
At least ten (10) years’ experience as a Superior Court Judge or professionally qualified Magistrate; or
At least ten (10) years’ experience as a distinguished academic or legal practitioner or such experience in other relevant legal field; or
Held the qualifications specified in paragraphs (b) and (c) for a period amounting, in aggregate, to ten (10) years:
In addition, the applicants must demonstrate a high degree of professional competence, communication skills, fairness, good temperament, good judgment in both legal and life experiences and commitment to public and community service.

Experience may have been gained in Kenya or in any other country with a Common Law jurisdiction.

Coat of Arms Design Competition
The Coat of Arms must capture the principles that the Judiciary adheres to as outlined in the Constitution {Article 159 (2) and Article 160 (1)} which creates the basic architecture for Judicial Transformation, namely;
The Judiciary must do justice to all irrespective of status.
The Judiciary must provide justice expeditiously.
The Judiciary must promote alternative forms of dispute resolution.
The Judiciary must administer justice without undue regard to procedural technicalities.
The Judiciary must protect and promote the purpose and principles of the Constitution.
Eligibility
Entrants must be Kenyan citizens
The contest is open to individuals and teams; The contest is not open to companies, educational institutions or organizations.
Entrants must be of sufficient legal age and standing to enter into a contract with the Judiciary

The entry form must be submitted with a soft copy of the design in CD-ROM either in JPEG or PDF
format.
Entrants must not submit more than one entry
There is no fee to enter the contest
Prizes
The designer of the winning Coat of Arms design will be announced on the Judiciary website.
The winning design will be awarded with a cash prize of kshs. 200,000 and a certificate.
A cash prize of Kshs. 100,000 and a certificate of appreciation will also be given to the first runner up.
A cash prize of Kshs. 50,000 and a certificate of appreciation will also be given to the second runner up.
All entrants must submit an entry form that can be downloaded from the website of the Judiciary
