UNESCO – Driver II Jobs in Kenya


Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the achievement of the functions and objectives of the Transport Division;
  • Ensure effective and efficient transportation services for the Commission by driving the assigned vehicle;
  • Undertake routine checks on the vehicle and report malfunctioning of the vehicle’s systems;
  • Maintain effective vehicle records by managing the vehicles work tickets;
  • Ensure cleanliness and overall vehicle maintenance.
  • Follow relevant safety regulations and state laws governing vehicle operation
  • Perform routine vehicle maintenance such as cleaning, regulating tire pressure and adding gasoline, oil, and water.
  • Ensure safety of authorized passengers and/or goods
  • Protect the health of the clients by undertaking first aid where necessary;
  • In addition, the officer may be assigned other minor office duties such as photocopying, customer care or light records management activities; and
  • Any other tasks as may be assigned by the Secretary General/CEO.

    Qualifications

  • A minimum of an O-level certificate, mean grade D+
  • Valid Driving License Certificate free from current endorsement
  • Possess the following certification from a recognized and accredited institution: a Refresher Course of not less than one week conducted in the last one year
  • Occupational Grade Test II
  • Defensive Driving Course
  • Customer care course
  • Valid First Aid certificate
  • Be in possession of a recent Valid certificate of good conduct
  • Experience Be below 38 years with an ability to communicate in English well
  • Have a minimum of three (3) years continuous driving experience in a reputable institution.
  • Demonstrated experience in competently driving particularly 4×4 vehicles
  • Possess basic knowledge and experience of government transport processes and procedures
  • Have working knowledge of traffic laws and regulations affecting the driving function
  • Demonstrate capacity in undertaking basic office records management duties

    UNESCO - Payroll & Benefits Assistant Jobs in Kenya

    Responsibilities

  • The officer will be responsible to the Assistant Manager, Human Resource for the management of the Payroll and Benefits activities in a results oriented and timely manner to achieve the Corporations’ goals, objectives and agreed performance targets. This will entail inter alia:
    Implement the functions and objectives of the payroll and benefits Section
    Compile and prepare the overall annual PE budget including HR metrics and analytics information’s;
  • Implement the human resource benefits policies, strategies, and plans
  • Manage the HRIS and process the monthly payroll and provide follow up activities as may be required.
  • Process new employees and advice on pay and other remunerative benefits
  • Coordinate staff welfare matters and counseling matters
  • Recommend to the Manager, Human Resource appropriate processes, systems and security features related to payroll management
  • Implement processes and procedure changes to improve payroll operations and quality service delivery in the payroll section.
  • Ensure custody and proper management of staff files and records and their security thereof
  • Any other tasks as may be assigned by the Secretary General/CEO.

    Qualifications

  • Be a holder of a Diploma or Higher Diploma in Human Resource Management from a recognized institution;
  • Be registered as a member of the IHRM
  • Experience Possess a minimum of three (3) years running experience in Human
  • Resource management in a reputable organization;
  • Demonstrated competence and results in a payroll/HR section of
    a reputable organization;
  • Have good industry knowledge and experience of payroll processes and compensation dynamics;
  • Possess working knowledge of existing human resource legislations and policies related to payroll and compensation administration
  • Personal qualities Team player, flexible, has integrity and commitment to production results, selfmotivated, organized, professional and dependable.

    UNESCO - Research & Development Jobs in Kenya

    Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the day to day business and be responsible for the overall achievement of the functions and objectives of the Research and Development Department;
  • Ensure preparation of the Research annual plans, budgets, performance contracts and establishment of proper internal controls;
  • Ensure the formulation and communication of the Research and Development policies, strategies and plans;
  • Support in the formulation of research and development proposals;
  • Promote and negotiate funding contracts with partners to support research or other applicable studies or support;
  • Coordinate research process activities and the preparation of reports and provide follow up activities as may be required;
  • Ensure the effective dissemination of research findings;
  • Establish effective mechanisms for generation of research intelligence to inform policy;
  • Provide research advice and coordinate capacity building programmes related to research;
  • Provide leadership to research staff and ensure that the Units management structure are effective including succession plans;
  • Any other tasks as may be assigned by the Secretary General/CEO.

    Qualifications

  • A minimum of a Master’s degree in the relevant field from a recognized and accredited institution;
  • Possess certification in either Quantitative or Qualitative research methods;
  • Experience Possess a minimum of ten (10) years continuous experience in the Research profession of a reputable organization;
  • Have at least four (4) years’ experience in an equivalent or comparable senior management position dealing with leadership and management responsibilities;
  • Demonstrated wide experience in progressive data management and research responsibilities in a
  • Research and Development unit;
  • Demonstrated expertise in successfully designing and carrying out quantitative and qualitative research and evaluation processes;
  • Demonstrated extensive familiarity with a variety of research field’s concepts, practices, and procedures as reflected in work results;
  • Have working industry knowledge of relevant emerging research trends and practices;
  • Demonstrated wide experience in research dissemination processes including presentations to decision-makers;
  • Demonstrated proven ability and results in research resource mobilization processes
