3. Sub-County Physical Planning Officers Jobs in Kenya (7 Posts) Job Group ‘K’ Ref: KSM/CPSB/2017/200


Requirements for Appointment:
  • Be a Kenyan citizen;
  • Must have a first degree in Urban & Regional Planning or related field from a recognized institution;
  • Must be computer proficient;
  • Demonstrate understanding of and commitment to the values and principles outlined in Articles 10 and 232 of the Constitution
  • Satisfy the requirements of Chapter 6 of the Constitution of Kenya

    Duties and Responsibilities:
    Reporting to County Physical Planning Officerthe Sub-County Physical Planning Officer will:
  • Be in-charge of all physical planning matters in the respective Sub-county
  • Initiate, prepare and monitor the implementation of County and Local Physical Development plans
  • Prepare action plans for specific projects such as residential housing schemes, shopping centres, industrial estates and recreational facilities.
  • Provide advice to the County Government and other agencies on development proposals and plans.
  • Implement and provide feedback on physical planning guidelines and standards.
  • Undertake thematic regional studies on matters relating to physical planning.
  • Manage physical planning data/records.
  • Set agenda and convene meetings with members of the County Land Management Board at the Sub-County level.
  • Oversee on compliance and control development at the Sub-county.
  • Process development applications at the Sub-county level.
  • Prepare periodical reports on state of physical planning at the Sub-county level.
  • Any other role as may be delegated by the County Director of Physical Planning.

    4. Physical Planning Assistant Jobs in Kenya (3 Posts) - Job Group ‘H’ Ref: KSM/CPSB/2017/201

    Requirements for Appointment:
  • Be a Kenyan citizen;
  • Must have a Diploma in Architecture, Civil and Building Engineering or any other related field.
  • Training in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) is an added advantage;
  • Minimum experience of one (1) year will be added advantage;
  • Must be computer proficient;
  • Demonstrate understanding of and commitment to the values and principles outlined in Articles 10 and 232 of the Constitution
  • Satisfy the requirements of Chapter 6 of the Constitution of Kenya

    Duties and Responsibilities:
    Reporting to the Physical Planning Officer,the Physical Planning Assistant will:
  • Be the technical assistant to the Physical Planning officer.
  • Draw/Digitize local and county development plans.
  • Collect and analyze geographical data for plan preparation
  • Vet and verify physical development plans.
  • Inspect sites, identify site characteristics and establish site suitability for proposed development.
  • Catalogue and maintain plan records.
  • Convert analogue data to digital format using Geographical Information System (GIS).
