11. Kenya Veterinary Vaccines Production Institute Human Resources Management and Administration Officer II - VPI. 9 - Ref. No : KVVI- 011/2016


Job Summary:

Reporting to the Senior Human Resources and Administration Officer the incumbent will
be responsible for supporting the Human Resources and Administration function in ensuring that the policies and procedures are adhered to and that the controls are effective.

Duties and responsibilities
  • Payroll administration and staff records
  • Handling staff benefits matters i.e. Pension, housing, health etc
  • Processing of claims and benefits;
  • Manage the staff welfare programmes
  • Interpretation of service regulations and policy circulars and communicate the same to staff.
  • Preparation of reports and summaries.
  • Maintenance of human resources statistics, job analysis and evaluation
  • Ensuring proper implementation of policy decisions.

    Requirements for Appointment
  • Bachelors degree in Human Resource Management or equivalent from a
    recognized Institution;
  • A diploma in Human Resource management and Development will be an added
    advantage
  • Three (3) years relevant working experience in a busy Human resources
    environment.
  • Meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010 on
    Leadership and integrity.

    Core competencies:
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to make timely and quality judgments and decisions
  • Good interpersonal and team building skills necessary to drive initiatives
    and achieve results
  • Computer literate.

    12. Kenya Veterinary Vaccines Production Institute Engineering Technician II (Refrigeration and Air Conditioning) VPI.8 - Ref. No : KVVI- 011/2016

    Job Summary:

    Reporting to the Head of Engineering, the job holder shall be responsible for the
    provision of professional, competent and efficient servicing and maintenance of the vaccines
    production plant cold rooms and other equipments.

    Duties and Responsibilities
  • Inspection, servicing, repair and maintenance of the cold rooms, chillers, freezers,
    fridges and air conditioning equipments
  • Installation and commissioning new equipments.
  • Preparation, interpretation of designs and cost estimation
  • Assist in supervision of related contracts ;
  • Assist in planning and supervision of workshop activities.

    Qualifications and experience
  • KCSE mean grade “C” or its equivalent.
  • Diploma in Engineering in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning or its equivalent
    from a recognized institution.
  • Basic knowledge in electrical
  • A minimum of three years experience as a Refrigeration and air conditioning
    technician.
  • Meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010 on
    Leadership and integrity.

    Core competencies:
  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural and multi-ethnic environment with
    sensitivity to and respect for diversity;
  • Have an understanding of the structure and functions of the public sector;
  • Demonstrated professional competence in work performance and results.
  • Be a visionary and result oriented thinker;
  • Be computer literate.
