13. Kenya Veterinary Vaccines Production Institute Engineering Technician II (Electrical& Electronics) VPI.8 - Ref. No : KVVI- 013/2016


Job Summary:

Reporting to the Head of Engineering, the job holder shall be responsible for the
provision of professional, competent and efficient servicing and maintenance of the vaccines
production plant and other equipments.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Inspection, servicing, repair and maintenance of the plant and equipments
  • Installation and commissioning new equipments.
  • Preparation, interpretation of designs and cost estimation
  • Assist in supervision of related contracts and liaison with consultants.
  • Assist in planning and supervision of workshop activities.

    Qualifications and experience
  • KCSE mean grade “C” or its equivalent.
  • Diploma in Engineering in Electrical & Electronics or its equivalent from a
    recognized institution.
  • A minimum of three years experience as an Electrical/electrician technician
  • Meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010 on
    Leadership and integrity.

    Job
    Summary:

    Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Research and Development officer
    shall be the head of Research and Development Unit and responsible for leading
    technology research in support of the institute business, operations and processes.

    Duties and responsibilities
  • Advising the Chief Executive Officer on matters relating to research and
    development;
  • Day to day management and administration of the Research and Development Unit;
  • Implementation and realization of the Division’s strategic plans and objectives
  • Identifying research innovations on veterinary vaccines and products that have
    practical significance and devise strategies for their implementation.
  • Mobilizing, overseeing proper management and accountability of resources for
    research and development;
  • Development and validation of veterinary vaccines production techniques;
