EQUITY Group Foundation has announced the opening of the selection process for the "wings to fly scholarships program".

The foundation said they will offer 2,000 wings to fly secondary school scholarships to financially constrained children who excelled in the recent Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE).

The group foundation said the minimum marks for eligibility for candidates was 350 marks except for few districts where the selection board may lower the cut off points as guided by the Kenyan National Examinations Council board.

Equity Group CEO James Mwangi said the bank was very excited to be giving more needy pupils a chance to secure secondary education.

"We have reached a milestone of assisting these students and by next year, we shall offer 2,000 scholarship ahead of our target date," he said.

Mwangi urged candidates to present themselves to the nearest Equity Bank branch or Agent, with their KCPE results and a letter of introduction from their respective head teachers confirming their results which is to be issued in the Scholarship application forms.

"This will give enough time to meet the January 5th deadline and short-listed pupils will be invited for interviews," he added.
