    Release of Results for the November Professional Examinations

    KASNEB wishes to inform candidates who sat the November Professional Examinations that the examinations results have been released and can be accessed using SMS or through the KASNEB website as shown below.

    1. SMS (Safaricom and Airtel subscribers only) Candidates should send their KASNEB registration number on SMS to 20558. Example: NAC/68148 where NAC/68148 is the registration number of the candidate. The SMS service is charged a premium rate of Sh.10 per sms.

    2. KASNEB Website (www.kasneb.or.ke) or (direct link to the student portal http://online.kasneb.or.ke) Candidates who have not yet created an account on the student portal are required to do so in order to access their examination results by using the following steps:

    (i) On the website, click on the student login link then choose the student icon or proceed to click the student icon if you use the direct link to the student portal.

    (ii) Click on create account and select whether you have Student Registration Number or not and proceed to provide names, preferred email address and a strong password (which will be used for future access to self information) and click save.

    (iii) Provide the email address and password used when creating the account and click unlock to login in.

    (iv) Select the “Registration Details” tab.

    (v) Access the “Course Choice” tab

    (vi) Select the examination from the dropdown box, click on the “Yes” checkbox and provide the registration number without the prefix (e.g. if your registration number is ATC/87061, provide 87061 as the registration number) and click save.

    (vii) Select the “Examination Results” tab.

    (viii)Click on “print” to print the pdf version or “Send to email” to send to your email address.

    Candidates who already have an account should proceed from step (iii) above.

    3. Result Notifications

    Candidates are advised that result notifications will be sent to all candidates by post using the contact address provided by candidates. You are advised to promptly inform KASNEB in writing in case of change in your address.

    4. Payment to Enter for the May KASNEB Examinations

    Candidates who sat the November examinations and intend to enter the May examinations are advised to pay the annual registration renewal fees, examination entry fees, exemption fees (where applicable) and other related charges as appropriate by February.

    The candidates should note the following:
    (a) Copies of result notifications ARE NOT required when paying fees for the examinations.

    (b) Candidates should enter the May examinations immediately upon confirmation of the results through sms or website.

    (c) Candidates SHOULD AVOID rushing to make payments on the specified closing dates.

    (d) Fees should be paid through the KASNEB Fee Collection Accounts in the following banks.

    NOTE: For purposes of determining when fees was paid, the payment date is taken to be the date on which fees is paid at the bank or the date on the bankers cheque or bankers draft or money order.

    (e) Candidates who are unable to meet the normal deadline for examination entry may still enter the May examinations by paying late examination entry fees.

    5. Appeals for Review of Marking

    Any appeals for review of marking should be submitted on the official form (available for download on the KASNEB website) so as to reach KASNEB 15 February. The form should be submitted together with evidence of payment of the appropriate fee such as official receipt or bank deposit slip.

    6. Examination Entry Forms

    Examination entry forms may be obtained from the following sources:

    (i) Download from the KASNEB website (www.kasneb.or.ke).

    (ii) Training institutions offering KASNEB courses.

    (iii) Kenya National Library Service branches countywide.

    (iv) KASNEB offices.

    KASNEB Exam Results - How to Access KASNEB CPA, ATC & Other KASNEB Examination Results

    KASNEB examination results can be accessed through either of the following ways

    A. SMS (for Safaricom subscribers only).

    Candidates should send an SMS to 20558 using the following format to access their examination results:

    Kasneb/registration number

    Example, Kasneb/atc/87061 where atc/87061 is the registration number of the candidate.

    The SMS service is at a premium rate of Sh. 10 per sms

    B. KASNEB Website. ( click on student login)

    Candidates who had not created an account on the website are required to do so in order to access examination result as follows:

    1. Click on the student login.
    2. Provide your email address.
    3. Provide a strong password (which will be used for future access to self information) to unlock the site.
    4. Access the “Course Choice” tab.
    5. Select the examination from the dropdown box and provide the registration number without the prefix (e.g. if your registration number is ATC/87061, provide 87061 as the registration number).
    6. Select the “Examination Results” tab.

    Candidates who already have an account should proceed to Course Choice tab after login and proceed from step 5 above.

    An official Examination Results notification will be sent to all candidates by post.

    Upon confirmation of results, candidates are advised to enter the next examinations immediately through either of the following banks: National Bank of Kenya Ltd, Equity Bank Ltd, Kenya Post Office Savings Bank (PostBank) or Co-operative Bank of Kenya Ltd. Deposit slips are available in the banks.

    Examination entry forms may be obtained from KASNEB offices, the Kenya National Library Service branches countrywide, training institutions or downloaded from the KASNEB website.

    1. Release of Technician Examinations Results

    KASNEB wishes to inform candidates who sat the May Technician Examinations that the examination results have been released and can be accessed through either of the following ways.

    (v) Select the examination from the dropdown box and enter your registration number without the prefix (Example: if your registration number is ATC/87061, enter 87061 as the registration number).

    (vi) Select the “Examination Results” tab.

    Candidates who already have an account should proceed from step (iii) above.

    2. Result Notifications

    NOTE: Students are advised that the payment date is the date on which they pay money at the bank or the date on the bankers cheque, draft or money order.

    (d) Candidates who are unable to meet the normal deadline for examination entry may still enter the November examinations by paying late examination entry fees.

    4. Appeals for Review of Marking

    Any appeals for review of marking should be submitted on the official form (available for download on the KASNEB website) so as to reach KASNEB on or before July.

    The form should be submitted together with evidence of payment of the appropriate fee such as official receipt or bank deposit slip.

    5. Registration/Annual Registration Renewal, Examination Entry and Exemption Forms

    Registration/annual registration renewal, examination entry and exemption forms may be obtained from:

  • KASNEB offices.
  • Kenya National Library Service branches countywide.
  • Training institutions.

    The forms may also be downloaded from the KASNEB website.

    KASNEB Registration Requirements

    Technician examinations

    A person seeking to be registered as a student for any of the technician examinations must show evidence of being a holder of one of the following minimum qualifications:

    (a) Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination with an aggregate average of at least grade D+ (D Plus) or equivalent qualifications.

    (b) Any other KASNEB technician examination certificate.

    (c) Such other certificates or diplomas as may be approved by KASNEB.

    Professional examinations

    A person seeking to be registered as a student for any of the professional examinations must show evidence of being a holder of one of the following minimum qualifications:

    (a) Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinationwith an aggregate average of at least grade C+ (C plus) provided the applicant has obtained a minimum of grade C+ (C plus) in both English and Mathematics or equivalent qualifications.

    (b) Kenya Advanced Certificate Education (KACE) with at least TWO principal passes provided that the applicant has credits in Mathematics and English at Kenya Certificate of Education (KCE) level of equivalent qualifications.

    (c) KASNEB technician or professional examination certificate.

    (d) A degree from a recognized university.

    (e) Such other certificates or diplomas as may be approved by KASNEB.

    Professional Examinations Offered by KASNEB

    Certified Public Accountants (CPA)

    Certified Public Accountants are skilled and competent professional accountants, auditors, finance managers, tax consultants and practitioners.

    Certified Public Secretaries (CPS)

    Certified Public Secretaries are expert practitioners in corporate governance, corporate secretarial practice, consultancy, business management and administration and human resources management.

    Certified Information Communication Technologists (CICT)

    Certified Information Communication Technologists are skilled and competent system developers and programmers, network administrators, systems engineers, ICT consultants and practitioners.

    Certified Securities and Investment Analysts (CSIA)

    Certified Securities and Investment Analysts are experts in financial analysis, consultants and practitioners in investments and securities, portfolio management of retirement benefit schemes and investment banking.

    Certified Credit Professionals (CCP)

    Certified Credit Professionals are skilled and competent top level managers, practitioners and consultants in the rapidly developing field of credit management.

    KASNEB Details

    KASNEB was established by the Government of Kenya on 24 July 1969. The Accountants Act, Cap 531 of the Laws of Kenya, which was enacted in July 1977, gave KASNEB retroactive recognition since its inception in 1969.

    The mandate of KASNEB is the development of syllabuses, conduct of professional and technician examinations and certification of candidates in finance, accountancy, governance, management, information technology among other related disciplines; the promotion of its qualifications nationally and internationally and the accreditation of relevant training institutions.

    In pursuance of the mandate, KASNEB enhances its existing products and introduces new ones in order to meet the needs of the marketplace.

    KASNEB History

    KASNEB was established by the Government of Kenya on 24 July 1969. The Accountants Act, Cap 531 of the Laws of Kenya, which was enacted in July 1977, gave KASNEB retroactive recognition since its inception in 1969.

    The Accountants Act, Cap 531 of the Laws of Kenya was repealed and replaced with the Accountants Act, No. 15 of 2008 which took effect from 30 December 2008. The Accountants Act, No 15 of 2008 is buttressed by the Certified Public Secretaries of Kenya Act, Cap 534, which reaffirms KASNEB as the examining body for the Certified Public Secretaries (CPS) examination.
