Current


A current may refer to any of the following:

  • The flow of electrons through a circuit.

  • When referring to a location or reference point, current is the active or working location. For example, when at a Windows command line prompt, if the prompt is "C:\Windows\System32>," System32 is your current directory and Windows is the parent directory.

  • A term used to describe how old or new a computer or computer product may be. In most situations, a computer that is less than a year old is considered a current computer.
