Command Bar

The Internet Explorer browser includes a command bar that provides easy access to almost every setting and feature in the browser. The command bar is located near the upper-right side of the browser or as its own bar, depending on your version, and can be turned off if desired. It can also be customized, including larger icons, changing buttons, showing or hiding button text, and it can be resized or moved. Below are two examples of the Internet Explorer command bar.

The command bar provides access to change settings for the Internet pages you view, including text size, text style, and e-mail capabilities. The bar provides access to safety settings, features, and tools such as the pop-up blocker and any add-ons that are installed.

How do I enable or disable the Internet Explorer command bar?

Open Internet Explorer.

Press the Alt key to see the File, Edit, and View options and then click View.

Under Toolbars, check or uncheck Command bar to enable or disable the Command bar.
