Busia County Government Assistant Livestock Production Officer III Vacancies(9 Posts)

Duties and Responsibilities

Carrying out practical demonstrations relating to livestock production;

Collecting and collating livestock data and information;

Accompanying extension teams during farm visits and farmer trainings;

Participating in field days and agricultural shows to disseminate livestock production technologies and information;

Collecting and collating livestock data and information for gross margins, market access and planning;

Participating in collaborative research activities;

Collecting livestock inputs and products samples for analysis;

Advising farmers on group formation, construction of farm structures and equipment.

Requirements for Appointment

Diploma in any of the following fields: – Animal Production, Dairy Science and Technology, Animal Science, Agribusiness, Animal Health and Production, Farm Management, Apiculture or Range/Natural Resource Management from a recognised Training Institution; and

Certificate in computer applications.

Busia County Government Assistant Fisheries Officer III, vacancies (1 Post)

Duties and Responsibilities

Assisting in delivering fisheries extension services including conducting field days and training fishers; collecting and compiling fisheries statistical data; and participating in fish quality assurance activities and marketing.

Requirements for appointment

Diploma in either Fisheries management, Natural Resource management or equivalent and relevant qualification from a recognized institution

Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution

Busia County Government Fisheries Officer, Vacancies (4 Posts)

Duties and responsibilities

Receiving and compiling fisheries related statistical data from field officers;

Analyzing fisheries data and preparing reports; assisting in Monitoring, Control and

Surveillance (MCS) of the fisheries resources; undertaking fisheries extension activities;

Maintaining of ponds at fish farms and hatcheries;

Inspecting fish and fish handling facilities at fish landing sites, markets and farms;

Assisting in the promotion of fish marketing and value addition.

Requirement for Appointment

Bachelors degree in any of the following fields: –

Fisheries, Zoology, Aquatic Sciences, Natural resource Management, Biochemistry, Food Science and Technology, Environmental Science, Chemistry or any other equivalent qualifications from a recognized Institution;

Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution.

Busia County Government Registered Nurse Vacancies (1 post)

Duties and Responsibilities

Assisting with dialysis treatment in hospital settings based on patient preferences and capabilities

Maintain inventory and care of dialysis equipment

Substantial ability to operate dialysis equipment

Assessment of patients and development of care plan in collaboration with other members of the health care team

Identification of risk factors

Patient and family education with regard to treatment protocols to help manage expectations

Provision of nursing care prior to, during and post dialysis treatment and

Implementing interventions and preparing periodic reports.

Requirements for Appointment

Worked in a busy renal care unit for a minimum period of two (2) years

Diploma in the following disciplines: Kenya Registered Community Health Nursing, Kenya Registered Nursing, Kenya registered Midwifery, Kenya Registered Nursing/Midwifery or Kenya Registered Nursing/Mental Health and Psychiatry qualification from a recognized institution

Higher Diploma in Kenya Registered Nephrology Nursing from a recognized institution

Registration Certificate issued by the Nursing Council of Kenya

Valid practicing licence from the Nursing Council of Kenya.
