  • A Diploma in any of the following fields: Agriculture, Agriculture and Economics, Agriculture Education, Horticulture or any other relevant and equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.

    Duties and Responsibilities

  • Training and advising farmers on matters related to Agribusiness, planning and management of agroprocessing related demonstrations in the County, Management of Agroprocessing plants at Agriculture Training Centre and any other location in the County.

    Requirement for Appointment

  • For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have a bachelors of science BSc. degree in food science and technology or any other relevant and equivalent qualification from a recognized institution

    Busia County Government Mechanic Jobs (5 Posts)

    Duties and Responsibilities

    An officer at this level will be expected to maintain the county Tractor in good condition at all times. Specific duties and responsibilities will involve carrying out repairs to plant and farm tractors, maintain workshop tools

    Requirements for Appointments

  • Kenya certificate of secondary education KCSE, mean grade D plain or its equivalent.
  • Occupational Trade Test grade III
  • Two years’ experience as a mechanic in a recognized institution/Motor vehicle garage or an internship of similar period.

    Busia County Government Animal Health Assistant II,(7 Posts)

    Duties and Responsibilities

  • Carrying out simple treatment of animals
  • Participating in disease search and reporting, demonstrating on milking techniques and external parasite control techniques such as dipping, spraying and dusting, carrying out vaccination and undertaking closed castration, dehorning, de worming, disbudding, docking, de-beaking and hoof trimming.

    Requirement for Appointments

  • Certificate lasting not less than two(2) years in any of the following disciplines: Animal Health, environmental health, Animal health and production from a recognized institution:
  • Be a registered by the
    Kenya veterinary board
  • Have a certificate in computer applications from a recognized institution.

    Duties and responsibilities

  • Undertaking disease control activities such as disease search, vaccination and enforcement of livestock movement regulations.
  • Participating in the training of stakeholders in vector control programmes
  • Treating sick animals
  • Advising on good veterinary practices collecting data and preparing reports on animal health, products and market
  • Providing advice on animal breeding and welfare.
  • Undertaking postmortem examination and other diagnostics

    Requirement for Direct Appointment

  • Be in possession of a Bachelors of veterinary medicine(BVM)Degree from a recognized institution
  • Be a registered by the Kenya veterinary board
  • Have a certificate in computer applications from a recognized institution
