National Innovation Initiative in Zambia

National Technology Business Centre (NTBC) and UNDP’s Accelerator Lab in collaboration with ZICTA, are implementing a National Innovation Initiative in Lusaka, Southern, North Western, Copperbelt, Western and Luapula provinces of Zambia.

This is aimed at mapping out the existing innovations across Zambian communities and supporting the promising innovations with the highest potential impact

Implementing partners of this initiative are now calling for applications from local innovators with innovative ideas, functioning prototypes and early stage start-ups to have an opportunity of showcasing their innovations at the National Innovation Fair to be held in Lusaka.

Desired innovations should be responsive to the Sustainable Development Goals, inclusive, technology based, creative and have potential to create high impact in society.

Men and women, with women, youth and people living with disabilities are strongly encouraged to apply.

Applicants must be willing to travel to Lusaka to participate in the national fair, grant permission for them to share their innovations with the partners and demonstrate sustainability of the innovation including value for money.

This initiative will facilitate attainment of the start-up’s next milestone, recognize and award the best innovations in the various categories, awards in monetary and non-monetary awards forms to support development of local innovations.

The Innovation Fair will also serve as an opportunity to match innovators to investors that can fund their ideas.

Each applicant is expected to make only one application online or hard copy.

Apply by 16th October.
