National Sports Fund Jobs in Kenya

National Sports Fund is a State Corporation established by Sports Act No. 25 of 2013 part III section 12 under the Ministry of Sports, Culture and The Arts. The Fund is mandated to raise funds through sports lottery, investments and any other means and disburse the funds for the development of sports and recreation. The Fund now invites applications from suitable individuals to fill the following vacant positions:


1. Accounts Assistant I, Grade NSF 8
Vacancy No. NSF/21/2016 Posts: Two (2)

Duties and responsibilities will entail:-

  • verifying and clearing payment vouchers and committal documents for examination;
  • balancing cash books, imprest and advance ledgers;
  • reconciling debtors and creditors ledger accounts;
  • analysing payments and carrying out data analysis to support preparation of accounting reports;
  • maintaining petty cash;
  • reviewing data capture within the system;
  • verifying data recorded in the cash book;
  • validating bank reconciliations, receipts and payments;
  • preparing financial reports;
  • verifying balanced cashbooks, imprest, and advance ledgers; and
  • ensuring correct maintenance of records for the purpose of payment.

    Qualifications For Accounts Assistant Job
    For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:-
  • (served in the grade of Accounts Assistant II or Accounts Clerk for a minimum period of three (3years;
  • CPA I/ACCA I or an equivalent accounting qualification from a recognized institution;
    OR
  • Diploma in Accounting or equivalent qualification from a recognised institution;
  • Certificate in Computer application skills from a recognized institution;
  • shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance.


    2. Office Assistant Job Responsibilities
    Duties and responsibilities will entail:-

  • delivering mails and postage and maintaining a delivery register;
  • moving and arranging office equipment and furniture;
  • carrying out photocopying and document binding;
  • maintaining general cleanliness around the area of deployment, collection and disposal of litter;
  • locking and opening office premises;
  • hospitality, preparing and serving refreshments;
    performing general gardening and maintaining lawns; and
    Ensuring proper sanitation.

    Qualifications For Office Assistant Job
    For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:-
  • Served in the grade of Office Assistant II or equivalent position for a minimum period of three (3years;
  • Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE minimum grade D Plain or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
  • Certificate in Computer application skills from a recognized institution; and
  • shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.


    3. Office Administrator Job Responsibilities
    The officer appointed to this grade will answerable to the Chief Executive Officer.
    Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail:-
  • taking oral dictation;
  • using e-office to research and process data;
  • operating office equipment;
  • attending to visitors and client;
  • handling telephone calls;
  • handling customer inquiries and complaints;
  • coordinating schedules of meetings and appointments;
  • coordinating travel arrangements;
  • ensuring security of office records, equipment and
  • documents, including classified materials;
  • ensuring security, integrity and confidentiality of data;
  • establishing and monitoring procedures for record keeping of correspondence and file movements;
  • maintaining an up to date filing system in the office;
  • preparing responses to routine correspondence; and
    managing office protocol and etiquette.

    Qualifications For Office Administrator Job
    For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:-
  • served in the grade of Office Administration I for a minimum period of three (3years;
  • Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines:- Secretarial Studies; Bachelor of Business and Office
  • Management or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution; OR
  • Bachelors degree in Social Sciences plus a Diploma in Secretarial Studies from a recognized institution;
  • Certificate in Secretarial Management Course lasting not less than three (3from a recognized institution;
  • Certificate in computer applications from a recognized institution; and
  • Demonstrated professional competence in management of office administrative services.


    4. Senior Information and Communication Technology Officer – Grade NSF 6
    Advert No. NSF/15/2016 Number of Posts: One (1)
    IT Job Responsibilities
    Duties and responsibilities will entail:


  • implementing ICT systems and standards;
  • maintaining primary and disaster recovery data centres;
  • ensuring work and changes to the ICT infrastructure components are undertaken;
  • administering and maintaining LAN & WAN;
  • ensuring compliance with database vendor license agreement;
  • controlling and monitoring user access to the databases;
  • optimizing the performance of the databases; and
    planning for backup and disaster recovery systems.

    Qualifications For IT Job
    For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:-
  • served in the grade of Information Communication Technology Officer for a minimum period of three (3years;
  • Bachelors in any of the following disciplines:- Computer Science; Information Science; Information Technology;
  • Business Information Technology or any equivalent qualification from recognized institution;
  • Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE); Cisco Certified Network Administrator (CCNAor any other
    equivalent qualification from recognized Institution; and
  • shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.

    5. Senior Accountant, NSF Grade 6
    Vacancy No. NSF/14/2016 Number of Posts: One (1)

    Accountant Job Responsibilities
    Duties and responsibilities will entail:

  • examining payment vouchers;
  • preparing financial Management reports;
  • ensuring compliance with financial processes,
  • procedures and regulations;
  • ensuring projects overheads remittances are done;
  • undertaking daily banking;
  • carrying out data analysis to support
  • preparation of accounting reports;
  • analyzing below line accounts;
  • balancing cashbooks on daily basis and providing cash liquidity analysis;
  • preparing bank reconciliations and maintaining general ledger accounts;
  • maintaining customers and suppliers records for the purpose of payment;
  • managing petty cash;
  • maintaining funds and cash records;
  • writing cheques and posting payments and receipt vouchers in the cashbooks; and
  • preparing withholding and Value Added Tax returns.

    Qualifications For Accountant Job
    For appointment to this grade, an officer must:-
  • have served in the grade of Accountant for a minimum period of three (3years;
  • have Bachelors degree in any of the following disciplines:- Commerce (Accounting option);
  • Commerce (Finance option); Business Administration (Accounting optionor equivalent
  • qualification from a recognized institution;
    have a Pass in Part III of the Certified Public Accountants (CPAExamination or Part III of the Association of
    Certified Chartered Accountants (ACCAor equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
  • be proficient in accounting packages;
    have Certificate in Computer application skills from a recognized institution; and
  • have shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.

    6. Assistant Manager, Supply Chain
    Supply Chain Manager Job Responsibilities
    Duties and responsibilities will entail:-

  • coordinating purchasing, warehousing and control of materials;
  • coordinating implementation of procurement policies, regulations and procedures;
  • developing the procurement manual and procedures;
  • ensuring internal supply chain Management processes and procedures is undertaken;
  • coordinating the identification of unserviceable, obsolete and surplus stores and equipment for disposal;
  • carrying out negotiation in contracts;
  • ensuring effective use of e-procurement system;
  • ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and ethical standards relating to procurement of goods, services and works;
  • consolidating procurement budgets and plans;
  • ensuring safe custody of procured goods;
  • coordinating preparation and maintenance of assets register, transfer and valuation;
  • ensuring periodic stock taking and stock audit is conducted; and
  • supervising and developing staff.

    Qualifications For Supply Chain Manager Job
    For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:-
  • served in the grade of Senior Supply Chain Management Officer for a minimum period of three (3years;
  • Bachelors degree in any of the following disciplines:- Procurement and Supply Chain Management; Purchasing and Supplies Management;
  • Supply Chain Management; Procurement and Contract Management; Logistics and
  • Supply Chain Management; Procurement and Logistics Management or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
  • Masters degree in any of the following disciplines:- Logistics and Supply Chain Management; Business
    Administration (Purchasing and Suppliesor equivalent qualification from a recognized institution will be an added advantage;
  • Certificate in Computer application skills from a recognized institution;
  • Membership to a professional body; and
    demonstrated outstanding professional competence in supply chain Services.
