This scholarship provides promising student from the Great Lakes Region of Africa with the full financial assistance needed to attend College of the Atlantic (COA).
Any citizen of Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania or Uganda who is also enrolled in secondary school in one of these countries is eligible for the scholarship.
Tuition, room, board, books and health insurance are all covered by the Great Lakes of Africa Scholarship.
In addition, there is funding for the student to return home each summer.
Candidates who wish to apply should submit the following
information and materials to College of the Atlantic (COA)
Preliminary Application Form
Copy of complete transcript from secondary school
The deadline for submission of the preliminary application form and transcript is October 31 each year.
COA makes arrangements to cover the costs of TOEFL registration.
Selection in both rounds of consideration is based upon:
High level of academic performance
Demonstrated proficiency in English
Demonstrated understanding of College of the Atlantic (COA)'s curricular and extra-curricular offerings
Capacity for contribution to the College of the Atlantic (COA) community
Independence and a flexible attitude towards civic engagement, cultural change and diversity
