    5. Site Laboratory Technologist

    Job Purpose

    Under the general supervision of a Physician, perform routine clinical laboratory tests per prescribed procedures and acceptable practice pertaining to HIV/AIDS drugs for the site

    Job duties

    Technical Support
  • Manage laboratory equipment in serviceable condition at all times inventory and ensure good store keeping for pharmacy drugs
  • Prepare the laboratory equipment and specimen for tests as necessary
  • Collect patients specimen for laboratory tests and analysis in the prescribed manner ensuring safe disposal of such specimen
  • Analyze and electronically record test results in order to issue reports for use by the physician
  • Maintain an accurate database of test carried out
  • Develop, review and regularly update the standard operating procedures manual for administration of laboratory tests
  • Member of the health facility drugs and therapeutics committee (TDC).
  • Together with other TDC members, review and regularly update the health facility on medicines.
  • Give the ART clinical team updates on the availability of tests
  • Perform any reasonable work related duties as may be assigned from time to time.
  • Member of the Laboratory and CCC team

    Training and mentorship
  • Orientate new laboratory staff members
  • Following appropriate education participate in counseling of patients before/during/after carrying out laboratory tests.

    Reports
  • Reports to the facility in charge and PACT ENDELEZA Laboratory Services Advisor.
  • Works in collaboration and guidance of the PACT ENDELEZA Laboratory team.
  • Prepare site monthly Laboratory reports.

    Academic Qualifications:
  • Diploma in Medical Laboratory Science Technology
  • Higher National Diploma/Bachelors in Medical Laboratory Science Technology an added advantage

    Professional Qualifications
  • Registration with Medical Laboratory Technologist and Technicians Board
  • Current Membership/Practicing License from the KMLTTB

    Experience:
  • At least 3 years relevant experience

    Skills & Attributes
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information
  • Ability to prepare and maintain electronic records, keying in reports and responding to both oral and written enquiries.
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical and clinic staff and the public.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing

    6. HTS Counselor

    Reports to:
    Longitudinal Care Improvement Specialist, Facility in charge.

    Roles and Responsibilities
  • Provide confidential HIV counseling and testing to persons at risk for HIV infection as per Kenya HTS national guidelines
  • Conduct HTS using provider initiated testing and counseling, voluntary counseling and testing and targeted family testing approaches.
  • Provide special group counseling e.g. couples, discordant couples, youths and adolescents
  • Address issues of behavior change in relation to HIV and ART
  • Facilitate the delivery of HIV Prevention information to clients
  • Provide psychosocial support and assist with linkage to referral services
  • Assess and document all referrals make follow-up and report on referral outcomes
  • Compile and submit monthly HTS reports
  • Provide health education to outpatient clients as a strategy of mobilizing clients for HIV testing

    Deliverables
  • Using the national HIV testing and counseling protocols, provide HIV Counselling and Testing to a minimum of 15 clients on a daily basis with a focus on new testers
  • Ensure confirmed linkage (target of 80%) of HIV positive clients.

    Qualifications
  • Certificate in HTC Counselling (NASCOP Certified)
  • One to two years’ experience in HIV counseling and testing ;

    7. Data Officer

    Reports to:
    Facility in Charge and M&E Specialist

    Purpose:
    The Site Data Officer will be responsible for patient health records and patient files within the site. The role will include updating IQCare and generating facility reports.

    Primary Responsibilities:
  • Management of the filing system at the facility;
  • Data reconstruction and computerization from source documents as required;
  • Data entry and updating of data management tools and routine data in the IQCare database;
  • Data quality assessments for CCC patient records;
  • Compile monthly facility reports (e.g. MOH 711, MOH 731), upload to DHIS and share with SCHMT as required;
  • Facility level data analysis and implementation of DDIU strategies; and
  • Disseminate monthly and quarterly reports to the facility multi-disciplinary team.

  • College Diploma with a specialization in Health Records and Information, Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Public Health Informatics, Statistics or Mathematics

    8. Data Assistant

    9. Senior Procurement Officer
    Oversee the procurement function to ensure that all procurement is undertaken as per laid down laws, rules and regulations, while enforcing transparency and accountability in the procurement process to ensure value for money.

    Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provide technical leadership to drive the implementation of procurement and supplies policies and plans aimed at cost effective acquisition of high quality, materials, goods and services.
  • Prepare strategic procurement plans and budget outlining key activities to be undertaken, the projected cost, funding sources as well as expected outcomes
  • Develop and implement flexible and responsive procurement and stores management system for monitoring and tracking costs as well as maintaining up-to-date inventory of goods and services.
  • Develop detailed tender specifications and performance standards to facilitate procurement of capital equipment,
  • Goods and services in strict compliance with the organizations approved policy as well as donor requirements
  • Develop and implement MGIC’s Procurement strategies and policies
  • Provide oversight to sourcing in support of project activities and conduct training on procurement, sourcing, contracting responsibilities, ethics and general guidelines on property management.
  • Examine and re-evaluate existing contracts in line with performance.
  • Perform risk analysis regarding supply contracts and agreements.
