Solidarity Fund for Artists and Cultural Organizations in Africa

It is in this perspective that the African Culture Fund (ACF) is launching its sixth call for projects as part of its Solidarity Fund for Artists and Cultural Organizations in Africa (SOFACO).



Applicant Eligibility

To be eligible, applicants must meet the following requirements:

Individual artists

Applicants must:

Be professional artists residing and practicing in Africa;

Have at least five (05) years of experience;

Present a project for the development of skills, creation or artistic production.

Required documents:

A copy of the artist's card or any equivalent document;

An artistic file (3 pages maximum) including biography, background, artistic approach and overview of the works;

A letter of recommendation issued by a recognized figure in the sector.

Cultural organizations

Candidate structures must:

Be legally constituted and established in Africa;

Justify at least three (03) years of activity;

Have an operational premises in an African country;

Present a structuring project that meets the objectives of the call.

Required documents:

A copy of the legal document establishing the organization;

A summary presentation (3 pages max.) of the organization's career and achievements;

Provide the biography of the person in charge of the organization and the organizational chart of the structure;

Provide the latest activity report (narrative and financial) of the organization;

A letter of recommendation from a recognized figure in the sector;

A detailed project: support for structuring or artistic creation/innovation project.
