Academics Positions

(i) Associate Professor – Scale RU 14
Qualifications for Appointment
  • An earned PhD or equivalent degree qualification in the relevant field from an accredited and recognized university;
  • At least three (3) years of teaching experience at the university as a Senior Lecturer or Senior Researcher/Industry experience or equivalent;
  • Supervised a minimum of four (4) post-graduate students to completion, including at least one doctoral student since being appointed as Senior Lecturer;
  • A minimum of forty eight (48) publication points as a
    Senior Lecturer of equivalent; of which at least thirty two (32) should be from refereed scholarly journals;
  • Demonstrated leadership ability;
  • Attracted research or development funds as a Senior Lecturer/Senior Research Fellow;
  • Registered with the relevant professional body (where applicable);
  • Evidence of attendance and contribution at learned Conferences, Seminars or Workshops.


    (ii)Senior Lecturer – Scale RU 13

    Qualifications for Appointment
  • An earned PhD or equivalent degree qualification in the relevant field from an accredited and recognized university;
  • At least three (3) years of teaching experience at the university level as a Lecturer of six (6) years research/industry experience;
    Successfully supervised at least three (3) post-graduate students to completion since being appointed Lecturer or equivalent;
  • A minimum of thirty two (32) publication points as a Lecturer or equivalent, of which at least twenty four (24) should be from refereed scholarly journals;
  • Evidence of attendance and contribution at learned conferences, seminars or workshops;
  • Evidence of winning grants either individually or as a group since being appointed as a Lecturer;
  • Registered with the relevant professional body (where applicable).

    (iii)Lecturer/Research Fellow – Scale RU 12

    Qualifications
  • An earned PhD or equivalent degree qualification in the relevant field from an accredited and recognized university;
    OR
  • A master’s degree in the relevant field from an accredited and recognized university (in special cases) with at least three (3) years teaching experience at university level or in research or industry; and
  • A minimum of 24 publication points, of which at least sixteen (16) should be from refereed journal papers; and
  • Registered with the relevant professional body (where applicable);
  • Evidence of attendance and contribution at learned conferences, seminars or workshops.

    Administrative Positions

    (i) Registrar (Administration) – Scale RU 15
    Duties and responsibilities at this level entail organizing and managing administrative or functions of the University. In addition, an officer at this level will be responsible for the maintenance of high administrative/academic standards in the University.

    Requirements for appointment
  • Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized institution;
  • Master’s Degree in relevant filed from a recognized institution;
  • At least 15 years relevant work experience in a University at least three (3) of which
    as Deputy Registrar or equivalent;
  • CPS III qualification or any other relevant management qualification;
  • Evidence of attendance of managerial and leadership seminars;
  • Computer literacy;
  • Training in Public Relation.
  • PhD qualification in relevant field will be an added advantage.

    (ii) Senior Procurement Officer – Scale RU 13
    Will assist the Principal Procurement Officer in properly discharging the responsibilities of Procurement Services in the University. An officer at this level will be responsible for: receiving confidential reports on all scales of purchasing and supplies personnel, staff appraisals and recommend for training, promotion or transfer; coordinating all the procurement activities; staff training; deployment and all disciplinarians; advising the principal procurement officer; remedial action on the part of schools/department concerned; modification to the defined procedures for the procurement and management of supplies; overall supervisor of all purchasing and supplies and activities and as assigned by the Principal Procurement Officer.

    Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in procurement, Supplies Management or its equivalent from a recognized institution’
  • Master’s degree in procurement, Supplies Management, or its equivalent from a recognized institution;
  • At least nine (9) years relevant working experience;
  • Be registered member of Kenya Institute of Supplies Management (KISM)
  • Must have a valid practicing license;
  • Holder of certified procurement and supply professional of Kenya (CPSP-K);
  • Attended procurement seminars and workshops;
  • Training in Public Relations.
  • Computer literacy;
