10. LVCT Health Laboratory Coordinators Jobs in Kenya


Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Generating annual work plan for all laboratory services and subsequent quarterly and monthly work plans.
  • Offer technical support to existing and new innovative programs and the National policy bodies.
  • Represent the organisations’agenda in technical working groups (TWGs) and stakeholder forums relating to lab.
  • To keep updates on the latest in the field of HIV and laboratory monitoring.
  • Ensure implementation of Continuous Quality Improvement in HTS, prevention and Care and Treatment programs.
  • Review laboratory internal quality control (IQC) and quarterly participation in External Quality Assessment.
  • Support development,pre-testing, review and implementation of standard operating procedures to be applied in HIV services delivery in LVCT Health, Sub-partners and the MoH facilities.
  • To take lead in the process of LVCT Health’s laboratory accreditation (ISO 15189)
  • Provide technical support to LVCT Health laboratory in terms of pointing out specifications in procurement of the laboratory reagents, commodities and equipment and ensure uninterrupted and coordinated supply of rapid HIV test kits and consumables to LVCT Health sites.
  • Linkage of LVCT Health and MoH supported facilities with National HIV Reference Laboratory (NHRL) to participate in the national external quality assessment program
  • Performance of Quality Assurance audit for Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI).
  • Ensure proper waste management and adherence to safety and infection control standards.
  • Documentation of lab services or activities and generate laboratory monthly, quarterly and annual reports on lab services.
  • Participate in utilization of program data to inform policy and programming.
  • To conduct semi-annual or annual performance appraisal to laboratory staff as maybe delegated by the care manager.
  • To attend all meetings called in the division, department and the entire organization.

    Requirements
  • An advanced diploma in laboratory sciences or related qualifications.
  • A minimum of 3 years progressive experience in implementing laboratory service delivery programs,demonstrated track record of providing mentorship and supervision for strengthening laboratory services and training in quality improvement approaches
  • Good knowledge on commodity management and reporting and LMIS functionality, experience working with MOH structures and personnel and good knowledge of health systems strengthening, strong programming, management, technical and critical thinking skills to facilitate program implementation
  • Excellent analytical,communication, presentation and report writing skills, demonstrated ability to work with efficiency and diplomacy, as part of a team effort, computer literacy, particularly in the use of MS office.
  • A degree or postgraduate qualification in laboratory sciences and/or degree in public health will be an added advantage

    Job Description:

    To provide laboratory technical assistance in HIV Testing and Counselling, Prevention and Care and Treatment programs in all LVCT supported sites.

    12. LVCT Health Procurement and Logistics Officer Jobs in Kenya

    To provide regional leadership to the procurement of goods /services and logistics matters in line with the policies.

    Key Roles & Responsibilities
  • Ensure adherence to organizations procurement policy
  • Review,develop and implement purchasing and contract management
  • Prepare clear specifications and ensure timely supply of goods and services.
  • Maintain the regional asset register
  • Provide input into the procurement plan, procurement policies and procedures
  • Preparation, publishing and issuing of procurement requests for quotations or tenders, evaluation and awards
  • Maintenance of proper procurement records in accordance with the procurement Act
  • Preparation of the procurement committee discussion papers and contract documents
  • Preparation of purchase orders for the supply of goods and services
  • Facilitate and oversees the implementation of the procurement committee’s decisions
  • Monitor the implementation of contracts as per the orders and expending of orders from suppliers
  • Carry out market analysis and bench marking and monitor current trends in prices for volatile market components
  • Serve as the key contact between suppliers and internal stakeholders in terms of procurement strategy for the region
  • Ensuring supplier performance reviews take place for all key suppliers
  • Ensure procurements are carried out in line with the specific departmental needs
  • Coordinate cost-effective disposal of obsolete equipment,furniture and other salvage goods in accordance with LVCT Health policies and procedures,

    Requirements
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Procurement/Logistics
  • At least 5 years’ of relevant working experience in procurement and Logistics field.
  • National Diploma in Purchasing and Supplies Management, or Logistics.
  • High level of personal integrity
  • Good team leader
  • Organized and a good planner with excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Understanding of various donors requirements
