Komaza Farmer Insights Manager Kenya Jobs


What You Will Do

  • Create Komaza’s framework and approach to farmer behavior change by leveraging and adapting the best of behavior change research.
  • Develop Komaza’s Farmer Insights process based on research on best practices, as well as insights from successes/failures within comparable organizations and industries.
  • Translate research and frameworks on behavior change and Farmer Insights into simple educational materials for internal training on best practices.
  • Create reports and PPTs to communicate new Farmer insights and recommendations.

    What You Will Have

  • 5+ years of deep experience with ethnographic research, specifically Human Centered Design, but also other customer-centric product and service design processes.
  • Deep professional experience implementing and improving upon the latest behavior change research and frameworks as outlined in the works of Nudge, Switch, Predictably Irrational, Thinking Fast & Slow, etc.
  • Ability to use experience to envision Komaza’s customized approach to using Human Centered Design as a system for driving Farmer insights.
  • Experience managing teams of 4+ people, directly coaching on process and performance improvement, and managing for collective outcomes.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across diverse and fast moving teams and departments
  • Ability to see the forest for the trees - to not get overwhelmed by an endlessly growing list of questions
  • 2-5 years experience at startups, consulting or other professional services firms.

    Komaza Farmer Insights Officer (Multiple) Kenya Jobs

    What You Will Do

  • Design focused, illuminating Design Challenges for framing your research based on business objectives and initial field work.
  • Build and lead cross-departmental design teams.
  • Create engaging interview guides (not scripts!) to get to the heart of what our farmers say, think, do, and feel.
  • Lead synthesis of data into key insights and opportunity areas, then tell engaging stories to inspire new ideas.
  • Take an iterative approach to prototyping and testing new services and communication materials in partnership with other teams.

    What You Will Have

  • A drive for empathy and a passion for understanding people, and experience with user research/fieldwork.
  • Experience as a qualitative researcher who is familiar with a variety of methodologies.
  • Experience with Human Centered Design as a process, with direct experience using it with customers to uncover insights into how they use a product or service.
  • 2-5 years experience at startups, consulting or other professional services firms.
  • Deep interest and experience conducting ethnography with rural populations.
  • Comfort designing in an ambiguous work environment with stakeholders at different levels of literacy and education.
  • Relentless optimism and a deep belief that a better future is within our control to create.
  • Captivating storytelling abilities - able to translate insights into stories about our Farmers individually, as types, and as a whole group.

    Komaza Farmer contract Lead Kenya Jobs

    What You Will Do

  • Revise our outline of key challenges into a clear logic framework of questions and an actionable work plan to develop final policies and contract clauses.
  • Develop and manage progress against a detailed project plan to ensure we finalize the contract before October 2017.
  • Research precedents and solutions developed by similar organizations and advisory firms through extensive internet research and phone calls.
  • Design, organize, and manage internal working groups to answer key questions.
  • Coordinate communications and activities with diverse stakeholders deliver
    a top-quality work product on time.
  • Create reports and PPTs to communicate \ progress and recommendations to Komaza’s senior leadership.

    What You Will Have

  • 4-7+ years of work experience at fast-growth startups or top-tier legal/consulting firms.
  • Experience with contract law and/or commercial investors is a big plus.
  • Experience with smallholder farmers or other low income/literacy clients is a big plus.
  • Very strong writing skills, with excellent ability to organize complex information into well structured, concise, easy-to-understand documents.
  • Experience leading policy/legal/strategy projects that require coordinating and collating input from diverse stakeholders
  • Ability to identify and manage competing interests between stakeholders, find common ground or develop innovative solutions, or know when to give precedence to one stakeholder over others.

    Komaza Structured Finance Senior Associate Kenya Jobs

    What you will do

  • Work with Komaza Leadership & external stakeholders to develop early-stage scoping, market assessment, opportunity analysis, and project planning.
  • Coordinate efficient engagement with a small “Brain Trust” of external stakeholders to get monthly feedback on instrument & implementation design via 1:1 & conference calls.
  • Research precedents and regulatory considerations (via literature & calls) to solve specific strategic questions and challenges.
  • Support Komaza’s Finance & Business Intelligence departments to develop internal of data processes to align with this new financing mechanism.
  • Support outreach, networking, and business development for this financing mechanism.
  • Own all project management, including planning, budgeting and stakeholder coordination.

    What you have

  • Bachelor’s in a relevant field, plus MBA or equivalent experience from a top firm.
  • 4-7 years of professional experience in investment banking, corporate finance, or financial consulting; experience with securitization, CDOs, ABS, etc. is a strong plus.
  • Familiarity with global financial markets and common development finance mechanisms (e.g. risk guarantees, concessional lending, blended finance, etc.)
  • Experience with multi-stakeholder facilitation, including leading workshops, working groups, and relationship management.
  • Excellent organizational, critical thinking, attention to detail, and communication skills.
  • Ability to present complex information in an insightful and structured manner.
  • Excellent analytical, quantitative, and conceptual skills, with experience applying those towards understanding business models and appropriate financing strategies.
