INQUA Fellowship Program for International Graduate Students and Postgraduates


INQUA Fellowship Program for International Graduate Students and Postgraduates; Graduate students and postgraduates within 8 years of receiving their final degree.

  • The 8‑year period excludes time taken away from academia or family responsibilities.

  • Scientists with permanent (tenured) positions who have been working less than 8 years may still be considered early‑career.


    Eligibility – Developing‑Country Researchers
  • Researchers working in low‑income or lower‑middle‑income economies (see INQUA list).

  • DCRs may, but do not have to, come from INQUA member or affiliate countries.

  • INQUA considers that inclusion/exclusion from the OECD list may not fully reflect science funding levels.

  • Senior scientists from low/lower‑middle income economies may still have sufficient funding; applicants are asked to be sensitive to this issue to ensure support reaches those who most need it.

  • Queries should be directed to the President of the relevant Commission.
