CFPs: Partnership with WFP Malawi for Beneficiary Household; The World Food Programme (WFP) supports vulnerable populations in Malawi through its Country Strategic Plan
(2024–2028), contributing to national and UN development priorities by addressing food insecurity and strengthening
resilience. Under Strategic Outcome 1, WFP provides food and cash-based assistance to vulnerable populations
affected by seasonal food insecurity and other shocks. The Malawi Vulnerability Assessment Committee (MVAC)
projects that approximately 2.6 million people will face Crisis-level food insecurity (IPC Phase 3) between November
2026 and February 2027, requiring humanitarian assistance to meet essential food needs, protect livelihoods, and
prevent worsening malnutrition.
