Bishop Gatimu Ngandu most liked by girls in city

Bishop Gatimu Ngandu Girls’ High School emerged a favourite among Nairobi female students seeking to join Form One.


The Standard established that most of the girls from Nairobi appeared to have selected the school as their preferred choice and landed the slots.

The school, is three hours away in Nyeri County and is described on its website as a place where students are encouraged and supported to excel.

“The popularity of the school is not accidental; careful planning and programming, the selection of excellent staff and a willingness to innovate in educational provision have all contributed to the high level of academic success achieved by students at the school,” read the principal’s message on the school’s website.

While Alliance Girls High School and Kenya High School also made it among the top on the list, Bishop Gatimu Ngandu Girls High School had the majority.

Debbie Nkatha from Makini School who scored 422 marks, Nyongesa Jemimah Baraka from Lakewood School with 422 marks and Kieya Anie Wangui of Mary Immaculate with 433 marks are among those set to join Bishop Gatimu Ngandu Girls High School.

Delcy Muhani Chelangat Asienga, from Makini School with 437 is expected to join The Kenya High School, while Kimiti Faith Njambi from Josnah Primary with 421 will be joining Alliance Girls High School.

For boys, Alliance High School was a favourite.

Sean Michael Ndung’u, the second best pupil in the 2019 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education examinations is among those selected to join Alliance High School.

Ndung’u, who sat his primary exams at Kitengela International, had 439 marks.

Mwangi Jason Macharia, from Citam Schools Woodley with 421 marks was also selected to join Alliance High School.

The selection saw Teddy Sepekwa Kuntai, also from Kitengela International join Lenana School with 433 marks as well as Theuri Matthew from Makini School with 427 marks.

Mang’u High School where Nzomo Caleb Muchiri of
Lakewood School with 422 marks was selected to join also emerged as a favourite.
