This is a position within the Resource Acquisition and Management unit focused primarily on resource development and donor/partner relationships. The job holder will execute programme and proposal development for high value, competitive, and complex funding opportunities aligned with WV Ghana’s strategy.
He or she will mobilize cross-functional proposal teams to ensure targeted input and reviews. The position will support the creation and promotion of strategic alliances with donors, multilateral agencies, and other NGOs for purposes of increasing resources for the children and communities WV serves.

Key Responsibilities
Pursue resource mobilization opportunities aligned to WV Ghana’s strategy and capacities from a variety of donors and Support Offices
Mobilize and lead cross-functional proposal development teams with clear expectations and timelines; mobilize multi-partner proposal development team for consortium proposal
Anticipate, plan for, and write proposals with high win rate
Regularly review project evaluations, lessons learnt, project and other internal reports and from other NGOs and donors and apply innovations and best practices in future proposals
Regularly meet with, brief, and provide updates to current and prospective donor representatives formally and informally
Make presentations to donor and NGO groups to share learning, promote best practices, coordinate programming, and foster alliances and consortia opportunities
Represent WV Ghana in various forums as assigned by Management
Research and monitor donor strategies, funding, and regulatory trends and advise Management
Support Project Managers
understanding and adherence to donor regulations and compliance requirements by ensuring comprehensive, detailed, and inclusive project start-up meetings
Support the capacity development of programme staff in resource acquisition and management.
Participate in field-level review meetings, visit field project sites, provide hands-on support to project implementation teams as needed
Perform other duties as required by Management
Education / Work Experience / Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Statistics, Management or related discipline
3 years hands-on experience in writing and managing high value and complex proposals for institutional donors in the context of an international agency; a track record of successful proposals
Demonstrable project management skills and understanding of the project life cycle
Strong verbal and written communications skills; a capable writer
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with others in and outside his or her own team
Previous proposal development and management for a consortium or alliance/joint venture
Experience in tenders/contracts or payment-by-results projects
Able to work autonomously, bear well under pressure, and remain accountable at all times
Must be a committed Christian, able to stand above denominational diversity
