Windle Trust Construction Officer – (1 Position) Job Vacancies in Kenya

Location: Kakuma but with regular travel to Dadaab

Key Areas of Responsibility

The Construction Officer (CO) is responsible for overall coordination and supervision of the construction process from the conceptual development stage through post occupancy and warranty period, in a timely and cost effective manner.
The CO oversees the organization, planning, bidding, scheduling, and implementation of the construction and is required to travel between sites to ensure compliance with quality standards.

Qualifications and Training Required

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in construction engineering architecture, building engineering, or civil engineering
• 3 years’ of past working experience in related field

Key Skills and Abilities

• Forward planner with exceptional people skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Knowledge on computer and building construction software programmes
• Ability to coordinate several major activities at once, while analyzing and resolving specific problems
• An understanding of engineering, architectural and other construction drawings
• Civil project management
• Attention to detail, quality, focus and good judgement
• Wide understanding of the building industry, including knowledge of materials , trades, methods and legal requirements
• Effective time management and logical decision making ability

Windle Trust IT/Exams Officer – 12/17 Job Vacancies in Kenya

Location: Kakuma

Background:

Windle Trust Kenya (WTK), a member of Windle International, is a non-profit organization with a mission to transform society through education and training.
We are working with communities in Dadaab District, Fafi, Wajir South, Turkana North, Turkana West, Dadaab Refugee Camps and Kakuma Refugee Camp on education projects.
Windle Trust Kenya wishes to recruit for the position of a IT/Exams Officer to be based in Kakuma – Turkana County.

Key Areas of Responsibility

The IT/Exams Officer will be responsible for overseeing the process of equipping of the computer laboratories, installing and maintaining hardware, software and networks. In addition, they will be responsible for managing computer resources, providing administrative services and technical support for all networked workstations.

The IT/Exams officer will also ensure the timely printing of examinations for the schools as and when required.

Qualifications:

A BSc in Computer Science or equivalent

At least 3 years of relevant experience

Experience with LAN, WAN, VSAT technologies

Mastery of office software (MS Office, MS Excel and PowerPoint)

Well versed in operating IT equipment particularly photocopy machines

Excellent planning, analytical, conceptual and organizational skills

Proficiency in English

Good interpersonal and public relations skills
