Description

Our client, Toyota Kenya Limited is a leading automobile distributor and service provider in Kenya. They wish to recruit for the position of Corporate Credit Controller to be based at their Nairobi branch.

Job Purpose

The jobholder is responsible for the provision of support to the operations credit controllers in ensuring proper debt management in line with company credit policy and credit guidelines issued from time to time.

Job Profile

  • Keep custody of all customers and dealers post-dated cheques and prompt forwarding to the cashier for banking
  • Transfer advance payment monies received from new unit customers from special general ledger account to the normal general ledger account
  • Allocate and track all dealer cheques to clear money received and receipted in the system against the invoice
  • Transfer misposting and reconciliation of debtors accounts
    Setting of monthly and update weekly collections for cash flow management
  • Monthly computation of bad debts provision and posting to the ledger as per TTC guidelines
  • Reconcile cash sales account to ensure zero balance
  • Extend credit limit / credit period for customers who have exceeded the approved credit limit / overdue days in the system for all accounts
  • Responding to customer queries on credit matters
  • Print and dispatch customer invoices and statements to facilitate timely payment from customers
  • Carry out Bi-annual debtors balance confirmation to ensure debts captured in the Toyota Kenya books are accurate
  • Follow up and post both approved VAT exemption certificate and Withholding tax to ensure full payment by the customer
  • Visit customer to enhance business relation, fast track collection of debts and to support the
    retention of credit worthy customers
  • Issue gate passes to credit customers after service/repair of vehicles and purchase of parts to allow customers to leave the premises
  • Consolidate weekly target collections & debtors monthly provision reports for submission to the credit manager for review
  • Open approved new debtors accounts in the system to facilitate timely credit sales as well as monitoring
  • Carry out quarterly write backs of credit balances and post in the system in line with Toyota Kenya guidelines, for compliance with the TTC Policy
  • Prepare the monthly debtors audit schedules for review by management
  • Confirm sales commissions and submit to the HR Department for payroll processing
  • Coordinate bi monthly meeting with sales team to follow on outstanding amounts
  • Keep custody of, and prepare a summary of bounced cheques in line with Toyota Kenya guidelines, and submit to the respective teams as well as management for follow up
  • Reconcile after sales deposit accounts (489001 & 489201) for parts and service, and submit to the operation teams to ensure that there is no double utilization
  • Prepare bank guarantee summary and confirmation with the bank for authentication for all new credit customers to ensure minimized credit exposure
  • Daily coordination with branches to support them on after sales debtors and cash sales management
  • Conduct debt collection and make follow up on outstanding debt from various customers to ensure the availability of funds required for successful delivery of service

    Person Profile

  • Degree in s business related field from a recognized institution
  • CPA (K)
  • Five (5) years of relevant work experience from a reputable organization
