TISA Kenya ICT Assistant Jobs

The Assistant Human Resources & Administration Officer will assist in all human resource assignments and office
administration.


The ICT Assistant provides ICT support services to staff and administrative support to the ICT unit.


Duties and Responsibilities


  • Under the direct supervision of Communication Officer/Webmaster, the ICT Assistant provide technical, operations and procedural support of all computer and related equipment.
  • Ensure smooth end-user services in the implementation, maintenance and improvement of information management, systems, procedures and activities of the office.
  • The Assistant also acts as an ICT maintenance technician for the office. Specific responsibilities include:


    Maintenance, Installation, Configuration and Troubleshooting

  • Maintaining and Upgrading of Hardware and Software within the organization.
  • Maintenance of Local Area Network (LAN) infrastructure and Internet connectivity to meet TISA requirements.
  • Support TISA staff in backing up and restoring their files, as well as in virus detection, removal
    and prevention.

    Networks Administration

  • Assistance in trouble-shooting and monitoring of network problems.
  • Assistance in backup and restoration procedures for local drives.
  • Quarterly upgrade and change of passwords for both online and online platforms.
  • Maintenance of backup logs for developing a local / external backup and restoration procedures for the server, local drives.
  • Analyzing and evaluating the weaknesses of TISA systems to security attacks, Assessment of
    security risks, detecting breaches of data security and ensuring preventive measures are put in place

    Administrative Support

  • Maintenance of an up-to-date inventory of software and hardware.
  • Research and retrieval of data from internal and external sources; preparation of statistical charts, tables and reports as required.
  • Provision of ICT support to key events.

    Facilitation of Video Conferences and Communications in the office

  • Installs, configures and tests audio, video conference and desktop video conference
    hardware/software using available communication and network connectivity.
  • Assists in meetings preparation by preparing and configuring conference hardware in various locations and operates equipment during conferences.
  • Provides support and training for new users of conference systems/applications and ensure the boardroom booking system is functioning and adhered to at all times.

    Facilitation of knowledge building and knowledge sharing in the Office

  • Participation and assistance in the organization of training for the office staff on ICT issues.
  • Assist in identifying of relevant websites and resources for TISA’s subscription and purchase
  • Assist in
    identifying of learning gaps and coordinate the implementation of TISA’s learning activities
  • Prepare detailed technical documentation, relevant user‐documentation and operational
    procedures. Maintain system configuration documentation for all servers and network devices.

    Support

  • In consultation with the Communications Officer, develop and execute a sound TISA ICT
    policy and strategy that clearly outlines the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in ICT
    management.
  • Maintain an updated inventory record for all computer software and equipment.
  • Provide assistance on TISA’s online platforms when called upon
  • Perform such other IT related duties as may be assigned.

    Educational and Qualities Required


  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Information Technology or other related field. Diploma holders encouraged to apply
  • Proficient in Computer use and applications. Adobe Suite is an added advantage.

    Knowledge Required


  • At least 2-years ICT Assistant experience
  • Relevant working experience in network administration, support to management of hardware and software platforms, and knowledge of Linux/Windows-based packages/applications and Server.
  • A keen interest in governance and devolution related issues
  • Experience in managing and facilitating of online platforms is an advantage.
