Scholarships for Internationals in the U.S

I am a South African wishing to study in the U.S. I got accepted in a University in Detroit. I have financial difficulties as they need me to provide a bank statement with about $44 000 and I really cannot seem to find any scholarships or financial aid to help me out. Is there any way you can help me out?
