Due to an internal move, we are currently recruiting for a Global Assurance Manager to be based in our Nairobi office. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Internal Audit Manager with the ability to understand complex financial and operational risk, and of applying a risk-based internal auditing approach.

Responsibilities

  • Deputize for the Director of Global Assurance as required
  • Directly manage a team of 2 Senior Auditors and an Auditor based in Nairobi
  • Manage the delivery of the annual programme of work, which will involve matrix management across the three Global Assurance hubs and taking the lead in carrying out and managing outcome focused, high quality, audits, reviews, and investigations to deliver clear evidence-based opinions
  • Coordinate the Global Assurance effort internationally to ensure that the function operates in a seamless and consistent manner, and have a particular focus on managing relationships with the business in the West and Central Africa, and the East and Southern Africa Regions
  • Support the Director of Global Assurance in reporting on progress to the SCI Audit and Risk Committee
  • Help strengthen SCI's control environment, making the 'assurance loop' work well, and broadening the understanding of risk, controls, oversight and accountability in the organisation

    Qualifications

  • Demonstrable experience of supervising and leading Internal Audit teams (preferably global teams) on short assignments
  • Strong experience of internal audit methodology, and the 'three lines of defence' model
  • Proven experience of communicating, negotiating and challenging risk and control practices at all levels of organisational hierarchy
  • A proven ability to focus on key issues and the 'big picture' as opposed to a compliance-only approach; and the ability to communicate these in writing
  • Strong interpersonal skills including influencing, negotiation, coaching and relationship building in a wide range of cultural environments. Strong ability to deliver difficult messages with tact and confidence
  • A desire to work in countries where Save the Children International operates, some of which are fragile states. The travel will requirement will be 40-50%, but some flexibility would be required to cover any additional need.
  • Sector experience, and French language abilities are desirable

    Role Purpose:

    The three Supply chain officers (SCO) will be based at the country office (currently in Nairobi) and each officer will be assigned to support one of the offices below.

  • Central and South Somalia area office
  • Puntland and Somaliland area offices
  • Nairobi country office

    Qualifications

  • First degree in procurement / logistics / Supply chain management, and
  • Has achieved or is studying towards the Diploma in Procurement & Supply from the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS UK) or comparable professional body.
  • Strong preference for candidates with both qualifications.
  • 3-5 years experience in humanitarian logistics / supply chain management
  • Substantial experience in all technical areas of logistics / supply chain operations including procurement, transport, distribution, warehousing and stock management, fleet management and asset management
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to use basic analysis tools like Excel ©
    Remote support to supply chain operations across multiple field offices
  • Ability to build effective working relationships quickly with a wide range of people, both internally and externally
  • Excellent planning, management and coordination skills, with the ability to organise a substantial workload comprised of complex, diverse tasks and responsibilities.

    Role Purpose:

  • Role is responsible for coordination and support to all area offices and the country office in relation to the standardization and use of all SCI supply chain systems / processes towards the achievement of an efficient, accountable and compliant supply chain for the country office.
  • In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly.

    Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years experience in humanitarian logistics / supply chain management
  • Substantial experience in all technical areas of logistics / supply chain operations including procurement, transport, distribution, warehousing and stock management, fleet management and asset management
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to use basic analysis tools like Excel ©
    Wide experience in supply chain process automation and systems development
  • Remote support to supply chain operations across multiple field offices
  • Ability to build effective working relationships quickly with a wide range of people, both internally and externally
  • Excellent planning, management and coordination skills, with the ability to organise a substantial workload comprised of complex, diverse tasks and responsibilities.
  • Strong communication skills - written and spoken English

    Save the Children Kenya NGO Project Manager - Child Protection in Emergencies Professional Development Programme Jobs in Kenya

    Role Purpose:

  • The East and Southern Africa Regional Project Manager - Child Protection in Emergencies Professional Development Programme will work to protect children in armed conflict through the adaptation, rollout & delivery of the East and Southern Africa Child Protection in Emergencies Professional Development Programme (ESA CPiE PDP).
  • Building on the successful capacity building model developed by Save the Children and now established in the Asia Pacific region, the ESA CPiE PDP will raise national & regional CPiE response capacity. Using the results of a regional CPiE Capacity Gap Analysis and the CPiE Mapping & Market Analysis data, a comprehensive CPiE capacity building initiative will be designed to meet the priority needs of organisations and individuals responding on the ground.
  • Key activities will include working with other SCI stakeholders to identify an appropriate sustainable business model for the programme in the region, adapting existing content to the ESA context, recruiting a regional facilitation team, the design & rollout of a six-month blended learning programme with explicit linkages to the global CPiE PDP capacity building portfolio as well as any relevant regional initiatives.
  • The ESA CPiE PDP constitutes a strategic investment in building the capacity necessary to deliver on Save the Children's Protecting Children in Conflict Centenary Commitment in the Middle East Region.

    Qualifications

  • Working background in the field of protection, education, international law or humanitarian aid;
  • Graduate Degree in Social Sciences, Human rights Law, Development Studies, Gender Studies or similar (undergraduate degree may be considered in conjunction with equivalent field experience;
  • Demonstrated extensive experience in strategy and programme development
    Experience and Skills
  • Excellent project management experience with proven experience of managing complex cross-organisational projects with multiple stakeholders.
  • Budgeting, financial management skills gained through demonstrated budget-holding responsibilities.
  • Experience in working remotely and in building strong collaborative relationships.
  • Demonstrated experience in building and maintaining productive working partnerships.
  • A good understanding of adult learning and work place learning methodology.
  • Proven experience in the management & evaluation of learning and development programmes.
  • Excellent writing, communications and networking skills in English and Arabic.
    Office and Excel computer skills.
