In Uganda, we implement programmes in five thematic areas of Child Protection, Child Rights Governance, Education, Child Poverty, Health and Nutrition in development and emergency contexts.

Save the Children delivers programs in 30 districts in the North, Rwenzori, North-Eastern and Central regions of Uganda, Currently, Save the Children has a staff complement of 450 persons. We save children’s lives. We fight for their rights. We help them fulfil their potential

Role Purpose:

The post holder provides overall programmatic and operational lead and management including; planning, implementation, capacity enhancement, monitoring/ evaluation and reporting both internally (within SCI) and externally with stakeholders.

The person is accountable for overall coordination and oversight delivery of the education awards in emergence response.

Qualification and Experience;

Essential

  • Demonstrated experience in Project Management.
  • Experience in leading and managing staff and teams.
  • Technical expertise or experience in education in emergencies.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing education in emergencies for international NGOs
  • Previous experience of project management
  • Demonstrated monitoring and evaluation skills
  • Ability to work both in an advisory and a hands on implementation capacity
  • Excellent communication skills

    Desirable

  • Proven capacity to
    supervise, train and coach staff
  • Previous experience of managing a team
  • Experience of representation, including Cluster coordination, and ability to represent effectively in external forums
