Plan International Graduate Intern - Health/HIV (Mombasa) Careers in Kenya


Areas of Learning/ Duties

•Mentor and support service delivery partners (SDPs) to scale-up an evidence-based package of services and support that will promote family centred, age appropriate, quality health services to households affected by HIV.
•Facilitate partners in the implementation of the case management approach; focusing on longitudinal tracking of the HIV infected OVC and their families to ensure access to quality treatment and care services as per MOH guidelines.
•Participate in relevant health technical working groups, CHMT meetings and ensure timely execution of the emerging issues in health focusing on the relevant beneficiary cohorts to ensure maximum impact.
•Mentor SDPs to strengthen community facility linkages and improved referral systems to enhance synergy in service delivery and ensure effective coordination.
•Work with SDPs and project staff to facilitate the implementation and tracking of highly effective Evidence Based Interventions (EBIs), Prevention with positives (PWP)/ Positive, health, dignity and prevention (PHDP), and documentation of impact on target population.
•Facilitate implementation of the ECCD health integration package of services and documentation of the same to ensure maximum impact.
•Produce accurate and timely reports, case studies, and other publications to showcase project lessons, and results to contribute to the wider sector and institutional knowledge.
•Collect and review data and other information relevant for monitoring project implementation, quality, and reporting.

Education Qualifications Required

Diploma or degree in public health.

•Work with various project stakeholders e.g. MoH, communities, OVCs, PLWHIV, GoK, County Governments
•Work on various health interventions e.g. FANC, MNCH, malaria, nutrition

Areas of Learning

Reporting and Documentation
•Collect, review and collate project activity specific reports and weekly plans.
•Establish and manage an efficient document management system for the program for easy access, storage and retrieval of documents in both hard and soft copies.
•File and store project documents and reports.
•Produce accurate and timely reports, program team’s meeting minutes,
•Provide logistics and administration support to service delivery partners implementing activities in the field.
•Document and sharebest practices, lessons learnt and success stories.

Coordination of project review Meetings and workshops
•Prepare internal and external trainings, planning meetings and workshops
•Provide back office support in monthly program review meetings/reports with service delivery partners

Correspondence and Communication for Service Delivery Partners and GoK
•Maintain a functional database and key contacts for both Government and Non-government agencies and stakeholders
•Maintain a database of service delivery partners and consortium partners in the program to facilitate efficient and timely flow of communication and program information.

Logistics and administration
•Provide logistical and program administrative support and serve as link between program teams, logistics/ procurement, finance and grants department
•Prepare materials and supplies required for the project and follow-up on the purchase requests, ordering and delivery of supplies.
•Compile relevant and required documents from the field and initiate payments for CHVs and CBTs in liaison with county coordinators.

A Diploma or Bachelor's degree in project management, social sciences orbusiness administration

Plan International Graduate Intern - Procurement (Mombasa) Careers in Kenya

Areas of Learning/ Duties

•Process procurement requests
•Timely delivery of supplies to the field sites
•Establish detailed requirements for office supplies, equipment and other goods required for workshops and meetings; ensuring that requisite quotes are obtained from the list of approved suppliers and ensures that such purchases are adequately supported by Local Purchase Orders (LPOs), Invoices and Delivery notes.
•Maintain an up-to date stores inventory and stationery records.
•Manage all documents related to stored items including stock cards, delivery and receipt papers.
•Provide administrative and logistical support regarding travel, accommodation, conferences, workshops and meetings.
•Input and maintain up-to-date records for all the trackers.

Education Qualifications Required

A Diploma or Bachelor's degree in commerce, business administration, logistics or procurement and supply chain

This role provides a learning opportunity for the incumbent as they support the implementation of Nilinde Project with DA 1 processes.

•Processing DA 1 forms
•Physical verification of assets and reconciliation against asset register and accounting records
•Filing of financial documents
Education Qualifications Required
CPA Part 1 or other professional qualifications in accounting

    •Work with children and families to ensure their participation in sponsorship and program activities.
    •Work with community volunteers to ensure quality and timely sponsorship production.
    •Work with CBOs for awareness creation, mentoring and community mobilization.
    •Create awareness to CBOs on Plan International expectations on communications and issues of child rights.
    •Train community volunteers and equip them with adequate skills for quality in Sponsorship communications.
    •Conduct community mobilization and ensure harmony in field operations.

    Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Development studies or Community Development.
