PATH Deputy Chief of Party Vacancies in Kenya


Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical and management support to the project team and serve as performance leader for selected team members as
  • Ensure overall quality of project products including work plans, reports and other deliverables
  • Lead preparation of annual work plans and oversee their implementation
  • Represent PATH externally to international agencies, collaborators, other nongovernmental organizations, and donor community as
  • Lead proper planning, completion, and dissemination of project deliverables; develop and maintain tracking systems for project
  • Identify, implement, and manage team tools to improve communication, work efficiency, and collaboration within the project.
  • Create and ensure the proper management of the project timeline and work plan, including tracking of various team activities, key resource allocations, critical-path management
  • Participate in donor convened meetings including performance monitoring team (PMT) visits
  • In collaboration with project team leads provide overall coordination of activities and their implementation, resolve issues, and communicate project information to facilitate the success of the project.
  • As the principal assistant to the Chief of Party, be responsible for convening and at times chairing monthly Senior Management Team and technical meetings.

    Required Experience

  • A Masters level degree in health informatics, public health, monitoring and evaluation, or other social sciences related to the field of health informatics.
  • Strong leadership skills and breadth of technical expertise and experience in health informatics; work experience at the county level highly preferred.
  • At least 7 years combined professional experience in developing countries, including experience working in the area of monitoring and evaluation at the national level.
  • Prior experience managing a demonstrably successful USAID, or other similar donor, project.
  • Proven track record of building and sustaining effective partnerships with national, county and sub-county government at senior levels, donors, partners, and relevant project
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the use of SPSS, Microsoft Office Suite or comparable professional software package—specific competence in the use of word processing, presentation, email and calendaring software required.
  • Demonstrated use of Tableau software is an added advantage
  • Fluency in English required; knowledge of Swahili an asset.
  • Experience in Kenya is strongly preferred.
    USAID cooperative agreement management experience highly preferred.
  • Ability to travel in-country as necessary; limited international travel expected.

    PATH Deputy Chief of Party / Senior Technical Advisor, Kenya Country Program Vacancies in Kenya

    Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical oversight, assistance, and capacity building for project’s facility and community level service delivery activities.
  • Provide leadership to ensure technical implementation of the project meets stated goals and reporting requirements.
  • Report directly to Chief of Party and assume Chief of Party role in their absence.
  • Coordinate among USAID, key stakeholders, implementing partners, and GOK institutions and representatives, particularly at the county/facility level.
  • Provide technical leadership across internal and external partners, government, and project technical staff.
  • Develop and disseminate tools and training materials to strengthen the capacity of staff and local partners on health systems strengthening and activities in HIV/AIDS.
  • Monitor implementation of project activities in the field and ensure timely completion of objectives.
  • Develop/produce contractual deliverables (quarterly, annual, field project evaluations, etc.) in conjunction with other key staff and external evaluators.
  • Work closely with project staff and implementing partners to identify, document, and disseminate best practices.

    Required Experience

  • Master’s degree in public health, social sciences, international development, or other closely related field.
  • Minimum of seven years’ experience
    managing and implementing complex public health programs of similar size and scope, with at least five of years in Sub-Saharan Africa, preferably in Kenya.
  • Proven skills in managing health related projects with a minimum of five years of demonstrated experience in project design of HIV technical activities and managing and supervising teams.
  • Minimum of three years recent experience as senior staff member on HIV/AIDs project.
  • Broad understanding of public health in Kenya and ability to work with government representatives, local organization, and private sector entities in the area of primary health care and HIV/AIDS health particularly at sub-national levels.
  • Knowledgeable about current implementation science and state-of-the-art service delivery approaches.
  • Oral and written fluency in English required.

    PATH HIS Technical Advisor Vacancies in Kenya

    Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Governance: Actively support intra-government convening with Ministry of Health to establish guidelines, review data systems, and oversee adherence to eHealth strategies and standards.
  • Infrastructure: Maintain landscape of country and regional infrastructure regarding availability of existing systems, electricity, and connectivity, server hosting capabilities, IT development capacity, and maintenance support for various levels of the health system.
  • Strategy & Investment: Articulate vision for digital health systems, and data use for the county, building a case for action, and align donor investments through technical contribution to concepts and proposals.
  • Policy & Processes: Assist national policy makers in adoption of evidence-based policies that strengthen surveillance, laboratory, immunization, and other health information systems.
  • Standards & Interoperability: Foster harmonization of national interoperability architecture in support of communication with and between Emergency Operation Centers (EOCs), and technology standards to improve health system performance.
  • Services & Applications: Promote PATH’s user centric design methodologies for service and applications.
  • Workforce: Catalyze efforts to grow qualified technical staff in the region (e.g. software design, development, project management, and ICT support).

    Required Experience

  • A Masters level degree in health informatics, public health, monitoring and evaluation, or other social sciences related to the field of health informatics.

  • Demonstrably strong analytical skills, including qualitative and quantitative analysis, enterprise architecture, IT architecture and systems analysis, and excellent deductive and inductive reasoning skills.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with both ICT professionals and health sector professionals and be able to facilitate communication between these
  • Understanding of the global health context including, surveillance systems, and international health architecture.
  • Fluency in English required; knowledge of Swahili an asset.
  • Experience in Kenya is strongly preferred.

  • Ability to travel in-country as necessary.
