The Nursing Council of Kenya (NCK) is a body corporate established under The Nurses Act (Cap 257) of the Laws of Kenya, whose mandate is to regulate Nursing Education and Practice.


The Council wishes to recruit highly competent, passionate, dedicated and self-driven individuals to till the following positions:

1. Nursing Council of Kenya Finance Manager Jobs - 1 Position
Reporting to the Registrar/CEO, the Finance Manager will be responsible for ensuring that the financial resources of the Council are managed professionally, safeguarded from possible loss and utilised optimally, putting the necessary financial plans in place, including budgeting, implementing appropriate budgetary controls, and supporting the Council’s strategic planning and business review process.

He/she will also be responsible for preparing and analysing management accounts, monitoring expenditures and enforcing financial controls.

The candidate will have highly developed analytical skills. stakeholder management skills and an understanding of Public Sector Accounting processes and procedures.

Applicants must have:
  • Masters degree in Business Administration, Finance, or any other related field of study
  • A Bachelors degree in Commerce, Finance/Accounting, Economics or any other related field of study
  • CPA-K or ACCA qualification and be a member of ICPAK of good standing
  • Minimum five (5) years’ experience in a financial management and accounting environment at a senior level
  • Experience in Public Sector Finance Management and IPSAS
  • Knowledge of prevailing tax laws and regulations
  • Conversant with IFRS/IPSAS and ERP
  • Certificate in a leadership Course from a recognized Institution
  • Financial planning and management experience
  • Budgeting and budgetary control experience
  • Demonstrable treasury/cash management experience
  • Demonstrable skills in development of policies and procedures, systems and controls
  • Past experience of effectively coordinating internal and external audits
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and reporting skills and
  • Staff management, development and discipline skills

    2. Nursing Council of Kenya Internal Auditor Jobs - 1 Position

    The position holder will be accountable to the Audit. Risk and Compliance (ARC) Committee of the Nursing Council of Kenya and administratively to the Registrar/Chief Executive Officer.

    He/she will be responsible for planning, executing and reporting on operational, financial, regulatory, risk based routine and adhoc / investigative audits/reviews of the Council and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

    Interested applicants for this position must have:
  • A Bachelors degree in Commerce, Finance/Accounting, Economics or any other related field of study
  • Master’s degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Finance. Accounting or any other relevant field of study will be an added advantage:
  • CPA-K or ACCA qualification and be a member of ICPAK of good standing
  • Certified Internal Auditors (CIA) certification or
  • Certified Information System Auditor (CISA) will be an added advantage
    • Member of the Institute of Internal Auditors
    • Minimum of Three (3) years' work experience as an Internal Auditor
    • Highly analytical with demonstrable ability to prepare and present concise oral and written reports:
    • Ability to develop & implement Internal Audit system
    • Knowledge of principles of good corporate governance
    • Ability to establish and retain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders and communicate effectively
    • Demonstrable managerial and leadership skills and demonstrable competences in Governance, Risk Management and Control (GRC); and
    • Demonstrate experience in the Implementation of the Institutional Risk Management.

    3. Nursing Council of Kenya Human Resource Assistant Jobs (1 Position)
    Reporting to the head, Human Resource and Administrative Manager, the Human Resource
    Assistant III will be required to help the Human Resource department meet its mandate
    charged with the responsibility of:
  • Implementing human resource policies, rules and regulations;
  • Assist in facilitating recruitment, placement, training and development of staff;
  • Assist in collating training needs assessment and organizing training programs;
  • Assist in coordinating the implementation of Performance Appraisal Systems;
  • Assist in human resource planning, communication, discipline, employee relations,
    remuneration and staff welfare;
  • Assist in Maintenance of Staff and general records among other functions.

    For appointment to this grade, a candidate must be:
  • Diploma holder in Human Resource Management.
  • Higher National Diploma in human Resource is an added advantage
  • Member of Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM)
  • 3 years of experience in Human Resource
  • Proficiency in computer application skills.
  • Certificate of good conduct

    4. Nursing Council of Kenya Office Administrator Jobs
    Report to Human Resource and Administrative Manager
    The function of office Administrator II entails:-
  • Carrying out office administration, secretarial duties and enquiries;
  • Receiving and attending to clients;
  • Reserving appointments and maintaining office diary;
  • Handling correspondences, telephone calls, office documents and equipments;
  • Dealing with protocols and travel itineraries; ensuring good office layout;
  • Ensuring security of office documents, records and secretarial equipment.

    For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:-
  • Served in the grade of Office Administrator III for a minimum period of three (3) years;
  • Diploma in Secretarial studies or administration
  • Proficiency computer application skills; and Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
  • Should have organizing skills, presentation and Customer service
  • Must have worked in a busy environment
  • Certificate of good conduct

    5. Nursing Council of Kenya Senior Driver Jobs (1 Position)
    Reporting to Head, Human Resource and Administrative Manager

    The function of the driver will entail: -
  • Driving and maintenance of the Council’s vehicles;
  • Detecting common mechanical faults on the vehicles;
  • Ensuring safety of vehicle on and off the road and the vehicles’ cleanliness.

    Requirements for Appointment
  • Valid driving license free from any current endorsements and valid for any of the
    classes B, C, E
  • Defensive driving certificate from Automobile Association (AA) of Kenya or its equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution.
  • First-Aid Certificate Course lasting not less than one (1) week from St. John Ambulance or Kenya Institute of Highway and Building Technology (KIHBT) or any other recognized institution.
  • Valid Certificate of Good Conduct from the Kenya police.
  • Over 5 years of driving experience
  • Demonstrated integrity and professional competence as reflected in work performance and results.
  • Any other qualifications that may be adjudged as equivalent by the Council
