Background


The national employment authority was established in April, 2016 by an act of parliament.

The authority provides for a comprehensive institutional framework for employment management, enhanced employment promotion interventions, and enhanced access to employment for youth, minorities and marginalized groups

“To formulate and implement policies and programmes for creation of sustainable employment for all Kenyans”

Functions and purpose of the national employment authority;

  • Advise on formulation of employment policies and strategies for national and county governments
  • Advise both the national and county government on any policy matter concerning employment
  • Develop methodologies for employment measurements, management and promotion
  • Conduct periodic surveys on labour market skills requirements and advice training institutions and job seekers appropriately to ensure that training and skills match the job market requirements
  • Maintain an integrated and up to date database of all persons seeking employment
  • Monitor implementation of employment policies and programmes
  • Continuously liaise with the national and county governments, private sector and other categories of employers to promote employment
  • Facilitate, continuous training and other activities of Kenyans to improve on their chances of employment and work skills
  • Register persons seeking employment
  • To work with both the public and private sectors in identifying employment opportunities and placing Kenyans with skills in appropriate positions locally and abroad
  • Circulate in a timely manner job vacancies and advertised to job seekers throughout Kenya through appropriate means including use of social media, internet and published materials
  • Provide counselling to the unemployed and undertake activities to promote employment
  • Take necessary steps to encourage equal opportunity, employment practise for the benefit of the unemployed
  • To administer foreign employment administration and management of labour migration through regulation of private employment agencies

    The ministry of East Africa community, labour and
    social protection, now invites interested parties to participate in design and development of sustainable logo for the national employment authority as elaborated above.

    Eligibility;


  • The contest is open to all Kenyans
  • Only one entry per contestant is allowed
  • The logo must capture the theme of the NEA as indicated in the functions and purpose of the authority
  • The logo may be drawn, painted or sketched using pencils, using oil, acrylics or water colour paint as well as mixed media
  • The logo may or may not include texts, if text is used, it must be either in Kiswahili or English
  • All art works must be original
  • The winner will be awarded a cash prize of;
    Kshs 70,000/= best (2), kshs 35,000/= second best (3), kshs 20,000/= third best.
  • Youths are encouraged to participate

    All entries in a plain sealed envelope clearly marked “NEA logo composition” should be posted to the address indicated below;

    Or be placed in the ministry’s tender box which is marked “Ministry of East African Community, labour and social protection” located at the main reception of NSSF building block A, Eastern wing 14th floor, so as to be received not later than 4th April 2017 11.00 a.m.

    The contest documents will be opened immediately in the presence of representatives who wish to attend in the conference room, 7th floor NSSF building block A
