Monitor Publications Limited, a Nation Media Group Company is Uganda's most influential media house, operating The Daily Monitor.

Saturday Monitor and Sunday Monitor newspapers. 93.3KFM. 90.4 Dembe FM, Nation Couriers and the Monitor Business Directory.

We are looking for a qualified and experienced results oriented professional to fill the following vacancy.

Job Title:

  • Dispatch Controller
    Reports to:
  • Production Manage Production
    Department:

    Job Purpose:

    To dispatch all company and client publications correctly within set deadlines

    Main Responsibilities

  • Ensure efficient Dispatch of all monitor newspapers for the NCU routes, 30 minutes after production of good copies.
  • The parcels must be tied well, correctly and in the right quantities.
  • Ensure effective dispatch of all non NCU routes which are, Bus (Nile Coach)- Paidha, Nebbi & Kapchorwa, Taxi Park: Airport (Eagle Air & United Airlines)- Adjurnani. Koboko & Moyo and dispatch of early edition
  • Ensure timely dispatch of all Nation products for upcountry i.e East African, Nation and magazines to all up country selling points
  • Ensure timely dispatch of all complementary copies
  • Ensure daily and timely dispatch of invoices. credit notes. statements and all communication to agents.
  • Play a supervisory role to all inserts to ensure fast and proper insertion of papers
  • Monitor and control materials usage
  • Reduce incidences of short packs.
  • Prepare Daily night report showing verification dispatch times for all routes.
  • The night report should point out any other peculiar Issues that arose in the night
  • Ensure zero tolerance of paper
    pilferage & accurate reconciliation of good copies received from production.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly reports highlighting all the points mentioned above
  • Prepare monthly payment schedules for all inserts in accordance with the attendance lists

    Qualifications & Experience:
  • Academic: A bachelor's degree in any business related course from a recognized institution
  • Experience: At least 3 proven successful years of distribution with a combination of direct and indirect distributors / market approach in an FMCG environment
