Minet Kenya Insurance Brokers Health & Safety Manage Jobs


Responsibilities

  • Advise clients from various sectors of the economy on occupational health and safety, compliance with OSH Act, 2007 and other related regulations
  • Contributing to the organisational goal of Best Practice Health and Safety management
  • Assisting managers implement new initiatives on OHS in the industry
  • Providing a consultancy service to clients to assist in the maintenance of safe work practices
  • Carry out health and safety audits and assessments
  • Foster and develop an H&S Culture across the organisation
  • Conducting workplace OH&S assessments where risks are identified
  • Conduct Training, Auditing and Assessments in relation to the requirements as outlined within the OSH Act
  • Interact with Clients nationwide to ensure compliance and remedial actions

    Qualifications

  • Comprehensive knowledge of the OSH Act, 2007 Regulations and Code of Conduct on Health & Safety Auditing and training
  • Minimum of one year in OSH Auditing
  • Current/Valid Registration by DOSHS as an OSH Advisor
  • Ability to identify safety issues and prepare a comprehensive plan to achieve goals and to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with adequate computer skills Education
  • BSc. in Engineering or other Physical Sciences
  • Masters or postgraduate diploma in Occupational Health and Safety is an added advantage Experience
  • Experience working in health & safety field
  • Good understanding of Laws providing for Workplace Health and Safety
  • Consistently able to work at high level of intensity whilst maintaining a professional and positive approach
  • Fully engaged and taking responsibility for own performance
  • Contributes to the development of others

    The suitable candidate will be a qualified Actuary; qualified within the past three years as a fellow of one of the following professional bodies:

  • The Institute and Faculty of Actuaries in the United Kingdom
  • The Society of
    Actuaries in the United States
  • The Canadian Institute of Actuaries

    The actuary will be expected to provide the following services:

  • Investment consulting for pension schemes Product development for life insurance companies
  • Financial risk management for healthcare and assets insurance
  • Actuarial valuation of employee benefits
  • Pensions strategy projects such as benefit change, risk and scheme design Helping clients with aspects of ESOPS
  • Supporting the audit teams in auditing the actuarial aspects of financial statements
  • Producing accounting numbers for clients to go in the financial statements on Company accounts

    Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for production of technically excellent and consistently accurate calculations with clear audit trail
  • Be responsible for high quality deliverables addressing key client issues
  • Manage your own time and that of reports effectively to consistently meet all deadlines
  • Take responsibility for and manage projects including billing
  • Regularly monitor all aspects of risk compliance
  • Show awareness of commercial issues and apply this to identify potential opportunities for clients Look for opportunities for direct internal and external client contact for business generation Experience

    Qualifications

  • Experience working in the industry will be an added advantage
